NEW SYSTEM build

Good day, I just assemble my new pc.

After I have install all the parts I tired booting up the system. It booted up for a few seconds then it shuts down, then booted up again now this time it is stable. I notice that there is a red light post on the cpu led that is on. I tired removing the memory from 1,3 to 2,4 but it didn't work. Does anyone know what is the problem?

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K

Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH P67

Graphics Card: MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8 GB

Lexar Media Inc Crucial 128 GB

Corsair Professional Series Gold 850

thanks for taking your time ¬¬

make sure that the 8 pin is corrected properly and the heatsink is seated properly and plugged in

hi,I have connected the 8 pin connector now, the light on the cpu and memo ok are off, but then another light came up, it's located around the usb 3.0 pin connector. Is this a problem? It is the "boot device" led light.

hi, I just got my monitor here today. It is the samsung px2370. There have been a problem that I have come across, it seem that I could not see the full edge of the screen. I checked on the resolution, it says 1920x1080 which is native to this monitor. So I don't know what seems to be the problem.

and erm now the screen starts to flickering.

My 570 card seem to only be able to play starcraft2 in 1920x1080 on "medium", it is the recommendation settings. Then I went on to use 3dmark11 and the score came out surprisingly low, P5708 3DMarks. Is there something wrong with my card?

Have you downloaded the newest drivers from nvidia?

Hi there,

I have a 2500k and a GTX 570.

My 3DM'11 score is just shy of 6,000 with an 800mhz core clock - this is considered to be a typical score. Starcraft should played maxed on that system!

I'm currently using the latest 280.26 drivers which seem fine, as have all recent drivers really! It might be worth doing a clean install of the latest drivers, just incase there's some rubbish in there somewhere.

Are you overclocking your 2500k at all incidentally?

Cheers,

Scoob.

hi, could it be that I have not activate my window 7? Because now i'm using a OEM and I didn't want to activate it until all the system are in place.

No, I don't think so. I don't activate a new build until I've installed all my bits, a couple of games and I've tested things. I don't specifically test performance at this stage though, but I can't see it being a problem. Your windows should be fully functional still.

If in doubt, activate it, it'll not hurt anything.

I tend to install Windows, install latest chipset drivers (rather than those on disc with motherboard) install other device drivers, then my utils and finally games.

You are all up to date Windows-wise thought right?

Well, I didn't overclock my processor yet. Not at this stage. It took me only a few seconds to start up starcraft2, however when I tired to change the config they suggest that the setting should be keep at medium. Which from my research this card should be able to run this game at max without any glitch. My device manager recognized my card as nvidia gefore gtx570. Is It a problem that, msi afterburner does not recognize my card as msi gtx570 power edition? I got this product from amazon, so far the other parts look great and seem to be working well. I think all of my drivers are up to date.

Sorry not sure if it has already been suggested but have you connected both the PCI cables to the PSU.

It is definately not an issue with windows being activated as you do not loose any functionality during the trial period.

Goodluck

Hi um,, I think I got it figured now. I just bought a new HDD and I tired to install it into my system, however it doesn't show on the "hard disk drivers" but it does show in the bios that the hdd is connected. Can anyone help me out?

thanks,

Click your start button, then right click "Computer" and select "Manage"

Once computer management has opened click the "Disk Management" tab down the left hand side.

On the bottom half of the right part of the window there will be a grey boxed area (Unallocated space), right click that and then select "Create simple partition".

Once the partition window opens click next then make sure its at the largest size in MB it can be (it should be by default) then click next on the next few pages until you get to a page with a "Finish" button.

Once you click finish it will format your drive then show up and be fully useable.
