right guys, time for a new system, my old 940 pin FX53 has done me proud but Im getting bored with it now..

looking at the following but got a couple of questions as I haven't kept up to date with latest bits & bobs.

Cooling is prommie 2 for the cpu, mag pump, PA160 rad for the GFX cards

I will be overclocking the **** out of it from day 1

CPU - FX57 - Reckon this would be good for 3.5 gig 24X7 stable with the prommie ?

MOBO - DFI NF4 SLI-DR - How many sata ports does this have ?

GFX - Pair of 7800GTX in SLI

MEM - I want 2 X 1GB sticks but which ones ??????

PSU - 850E ETX SSI - genuinly how quiet are these ?

I already have the 2005 & 2405 Dell monitors so Ill be using one of them..

Any help with the questions would be much appreciated.

Hello chap!

FX57 San Diego is a good choice for 3.5g albeit an expensive one, if budget is out the window then FX57 is perfect. If you want to save some pennies go for the fastest non-FX San Diego, they all have 1MB cache.

Mobo is a fast, quirky choice. That one has 8 SATA ports. I prefer the Asus A8N SLI personally and there are some new players coming out shortly, the Fatality Abit SLI looks like a good choice too.

GFX is a good choice, but again very expensive. Why not opt for two 512 6800's instead which would be comparable when overclocked?

Memory dont got with 2 x 1GB, use 4 x 512's: Redline Mushkin is probably the best stuff out there at the moment.

PSU is the best choice, but damn noisy really, 34db(A). You'd be better off with the OCZ powerstream 600w, but until we know how much heat the new cpu and Ultras will kick out its a tricky one.

Budget ? Whats that ?

you should know me by now fella :)

will prob be 2-3 weeks before everything is readily available so Ill be keeping an eye out of mem & mobos & benchies of those new GFX cards

Deffo buy next gen but I don't know about buying the GTX versions. Nvidia will be releasing 7800u's shortly after.
