1. don't get 'value' ram - usually bad timings

2. spinpoint f3 HDDs degrade faster over time

3. baaaaaaaddddd choice on the cooler - this is the most important thing in your case as it protects the most expensive

1. I have 4 gigs of those in my current system and they seem to work great.

2. I saw a lot of guys here that have the spinpoint f3, so I decided to buy it also, what HDD do you think I should choose ? I want a silent HDD.

3. CLICKY <----- Choose one from the page I gave you and tell it to me. But I need something cheap, that will last me until I buy something better.

RAM-Get something decent, even a low-ish end Mushkin set is good.

HDD-Western Digital Green 1TB or 500GB, I have the 1TB, you wouldn't know it was there, its quiet. And cool.

Motherboard looks cool, case is OK

CPU is fine

GPU is fine, but have a look at the Twin Frozr ones, if you value silence you will truly appreciate that cooler.

Get a better CPU cooler, say the Noctua NH-D14. Even if you aren't overclocking much, it keeps your CPU a lot cooler, and its very quiet.

Heatsinks on memory are completely pointless.

They are there for one thing - looks.

Same goes for ram fan thingys. Ram isn't usually limited by heat, more the timings and overall clocks.

Now when ram is sold as 2000mhz? sure, it's top drawer ram. Water cooled ram is also pointless, just being done for looks.

The thing is what you're not being told. IE - running ram at 2000mhz as opposed to 1600mhz makes about a 1% difference to the speed of your PC.

I'm not against premium products at all, but they cost a premium and you can usually pick up a less flattering counterpart for far less. The ram I am using in my mod build is Kingston Valueram and clocks at 1333mhz. I paid £8 for it and £3.90 for some flashy heatsinks. Total - £11.90. Unsurprisingly it performs equally as well as Epeen 1333 ram. Infact no, I will go as far to say that it's probably the most compatible ram I have ever used.

You'll notice that motherboards do not have memory temp sensors. Nor does the memory have a thermometer to report temps. There's a reason for that, heat is NEVER the issue with ram failing or not being able to overclock it very far.

hehe they were only put on there to stop it looking like ass inside tbh

I mean yeah, cheapo ram sticks don't look so good when you have a window and a PC packed full of lovely looking hardware

So, final specs :

Ram Corsair Vengeance 4GB KIT

HDD Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB (Will add another one in the future with a 64Gig SSD)

MOTHERBOARD Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3

CASE Nzxt Lexa S

CPU Core i5 2500k

GPU ASUS HD6950 DirectCUII 1GB (Where I buy the parts there are no MSi GPU's or even Products)

PSU be quiet! Pure Power L7 530w

COOLING AC Freezer xtreme rev2

The vengeance RAM is like 5 bucks more than the ValueSelect but looks cooler

And with a window case I would like to have beautiful ram

About the cooler, it's better than the stock intel cooler, it's silent, and I wont do crazy overclocking, 4Ghz at stock voltages will do

be considerate when mounting that cooler

do NOT have the fan sucking hot air off the GPU - those 6950's get very hot
