New Rig ram touching cooler

Hi All,

New to the site, could use a little advice about a new rig.

I just purchased the following and am having issues.

Gigabyte G1 Assassin

Thermaltake FRIO OCK CPU Cooler

3x4GB Corsair Vengeance

Gigabyte GTX590 3GB GDDR5 - Model: GV-N590D5-3GD-B

Intel Core i7 970 3.20Ghz 12meg Cache LGA1366

Aerocool XPredator Black/Orange

Corsair HX1000W Modular Power Supply

OCZ Agility3 120GB SSD

Basically the cooler covers the first ram slot.. (all good triple slot configuration uses green slots and 12 GB is plenty for me)

..BUT even using the green slots the cooler touches the ram..

Is this going to be and issue or should i just put the stock Intel I7 cooler back in?

Thanks in Advance

Batch 1

Batch 2 - CPU Cooler swapped mounting brackets to turn 90'

Batch 3 - Some issues,

1st - Mounting a 590 gfx card with this case was easy room wise however the orange expansion holder clips weren't designed to hold a double height gfx card, so I took off the top half use a screw on the bottom hole and attached the clips back to the case, the top clip does up but the second is held by the screw

2nd - The hole in the case for running the 2x 12volt motherboard connectors behind isn't big enough, and the cables wouldn't reach if they did

... so I ran the cable in front without hitting a fan or making it messy

3rd - Possibly the neatest rig in the world, I used many many zip ties

4th - Installing windows, the cpu fan it very loud...

is the cooler pushing hard against the RAM like is it bending the cooler out of place or bending the RAM over much?

It dose look like the cooler is pusing the RAM over a little bit.

Can you change the orientation so the fan is facing towards/away from the fan so the RAM and fan are in line?

Does the cooler not fit the other way around so the fan is next to the ram?

It's just that that way of mounting isn't ideal because the heat from the graphics cards going to be going up into the CPU cooler.

I also agree with Sheroo about more pics of the case

It is pushing just slightly on the ram. Unfortunatley the cooler has to sit that way or opposite that way (same issue) check out the manufacturer

Yeah you guys were right

I changed the mounting brackets from being horizontal top/bottom to vertical left right, mounted it 90', this gave me the possibility of using ram slot 1 (previously blocked at risk. Over time if the cpu fan becomes unbalance it would be messy, lol

However most importantly no touch on the 2nd slot...yay

. See batch 2 for pics, I also added a few more for batch 1
