New Rig for a friend

I'm worried how it will preform when it comes to gaming though, I'm pretty sure it will handle normal desktop stuff.

You'll get a little idea of how the GTX760 2GB will perform at 5760x1080p by Googling 'GTX 760 5760x1080p'. The 4GB version should perform a bit better than this too bear in mind.

Sorry, when I mean he will plan on playing some games I didn't mean he would play on all 3 monitors, he would play on 1.

Would this completely change your opinion? :)

Dekstop stuff asks next to nothing from your GPU and even editing is mainly CPU intensive. You can also get an R9 280 (get the X version if you can) which has 3GB VRAM and is a tad quicker than the 760.

Edit; Yes. 2GB is plenty for 1080P Gaming.

Edit 2; Merged and moved to New Build Advice.

Oh my bad, in that case, 4GB VRAM definitely will not be needed and I'd look at a better GPU with lower VRAM. You could get a GTX770 2GB for example.

Okay cool. Well I think I'll stay with the Gtx 760 (4GB version). The price difference between the 4GB version and the 2GB version is so small I might as well go for it.

Thanks for your help!

Where I live, the 770 is just a bit more then $100. Do you think that will be worth it or will the 760 (4GB) still hand no probs?

Oh that's a shame, the GTX770 is about £30 cheaper in the UK when I just checked a minute ago. It's really not that big a deal when gaming won't be that often, and for only occasional gaming I'm sure the GTX760 4GB will be fine. You could look at some AMD cards like Feronix suggested, but again it's not going to be a big problem for infrequent gaming.

Yeah, one of the few downsides to living this side of the world

Thanks a lot for your input Remmy and Feronix, you both have helped me!
Really appreciate it! Enjoy your weekends!
