New psu and quiet

New member
i am looking for a new psu because mine is 3 years old and starting to get low v on each rail.
My system specs are
Amd phenom II x6 1075t
7 fans with led
one pump 8w maxs
4 harddrives
Zotac gtx 580
sound card
wireless card
4 sticks of ddr3 memory
anything more i need to say?
 
As above. Or you could look at some of the BeQuiet PSU's. They have a very good range. The only downside are the multi-coloured cables, which is the norm for most brands anyway.
 
I'd recommend a Silverstone Strider, they are superb PSUs that go 100W above their rated wattage when OC'ing etc. I've had mine nearly a year without hiccup and its VERY quiet. Silverstone fans are renowned for being quiet. I have the Gold 750W
 
Sticking with the big boys like Corsair, Seasonic is recommended. Go for a PSU that's between 600W and 750W. It should be more than enough.
 
Corsair AX's, XFX Pro's a few others that are made by Seasonic are good units. Go for a strong single rail over multiple rails.
Where would you be looking at buying from?
Maybe post a link and folks can make suggestions. Plus what is your budget?
 
Have a look at the NZXT Hale90 PSU, it's very underused in my opinion. It's a re-branded Super Flower Golden Green unit which is absolutely solid. The 650W would be great.
 
Watts are not everything. The whole design of the PCB, the Amps, the Rails, the efficiency, are one of the few things that one should consider when buying one. And they need to be friendly to your components.
 
If you ever want your PSU sleeved too, avoid Corsair, they use cheap terminals that are a nightmare to get the pins out of.
 
okey, so i went for an xfx 750w, looked it up and it had some good reviews of it, this is the on i bought

+ while i was byuing it i went for new ram(corsair Vengeance 8gb)
+ a 40mm fan for cooling my mosfet and the other things on the asus m4n98td evo motherboard, the obne that is copper colored

edit: and thanks guys for all the help i've got so far, this might be the best forum i've been on so far(not used so many) and i'll get it maybe end of this week or starting of the next week, i will post pictures when i innstalled it + i am waiting for my waterblock for my videocard, so guys just wait till you see my system :D

it was a hard choice to find a good one, since the webshop i am using dont have that many brands that i really like, but still they got few good ones there
 
that one wasnt that cheap, but 125 AUD is cheap for me, in Norwegian krone that is like 725 Nok
and 995 nok to aud is 169 aud

The one i have now is only 80+ sertified, not even bronze, silver, gold or platinum
and i could not afford for a better one
