Made 3ghz not sure about the voltage tho :(

well iirc they are 2ghz stock so a 1ghz o/c aint bad try burning ti in at those voltages and maybe you will get higher potential clocks with lower volts

Phil

Microprocessors cant burn in AFAIK...also, if thats under phase that should be fine under them voltages.

Hey Brad! Dont get despondent about having an Epox! I dont think theres that much in it between the 2..saying that..I`ve just bought a DFI for VDIMM..but thats different :-p

Im not dissapointed in the least, I mean how many decent sli motherboards can you get for £76 :D I had a DFI NF4 SLI-DR before along with my Vapochill XE II I bought from EP but sold them both with my 3.3ghz 3700 SD about 4 months ago when I was buying a new car

So I guess 2.9ghz with a £110 CPU and £76 Mobo cant be bad

Very nice!!

Think I may get one of these just for a cheap expendible CPU, and whack it under some water if these are the sorts of results we are seeing.

Why are the optys overclocking so well? Some of them are doing better than the standard A64's and even the FX's!!! What's going on?

32m Superpi stable (of 3dmark03 stable) is what you need, without it it's not a stable gaming platform, although 4m superpi stable normally means you can run AQM3 and (if you run tests individually) 3dm01 for benching.

It's mainly down to the stepping of the product, some were cut using FX57 Dies's - a lot of Opty's have the cold bug for example K404 has one - but to that end some FX's do too - one of the reasons why if your going phase its better to have one that has already been used in that way.

At the current price point they are hard to ignore, especailly for air cooled rigs.

Right now a brand new one is as much of a liabiltiy as any other chip - the 1st batches were cracking though - people are actually selling them for a profit.

Ive got my hands on an Opteron 146 CABYE 0540 too.

Does 3ghz on air at 1.52v - also got meself some Ballistix PC4000 (2gb) which runs 300fsb 1:1

Just waiting for new case to stick it all in ;)

Will post screenies when im done fellas.

Brad- for the cash theyre superb.......mental performance for a mental price.

Yes mate it was.

Oh BTW Mav.......you might get your DFI mobo in the end - i cancelled my order so i could buy an Asus A8N32 when they become available.

Something was nagging me not to buy it after i ordered it.

Hurry up Asus and ship those boards ;)
