Personally I'd steer clear of the Ratpadz GS - mine wore out in under 2 months 
I'm also swapping from a G5 to a Microsoft Habu this crimbo as the mouse wheel no longer works properly (and neither do the tilt buttons on the wheel). I've only had my G5 since June
I've always rated MS mice for durability - with my old wireless explorer lasting 5 years before some batteries exploded inside it.
