Got me some of that GSkill magic - this time with the LE chips.
I am only running a Winchester 3500 but set at 295x10 I can run it at 3-2-2-5.
CPU Craps out above that speed, might drop the multiplier to see how far I can push the ram, but I am real happy at those timings.
Also does 268x11 @ 2.5-2-2-5 if I run HTTx3 but can run stable with 3-2-2-5 with HTx4.
ASUS A8N-Sli 1003 BIOS (blew 2 up already!!)
6800GTx1 (had 2, one blew up with 2nd MOBO)
Raptor SATA 74GB
2x200GB Seagate SATA drives
DVD Writer
Gskill Memory 3200/4400 @ 295FSB 3-2-2-5
Winchester 3500+ CPU - MachII cooled - Temps are -50 on evap under load
Audigy2 ZS
26k on 3dmark2001SE
20.9k 3dmark03 (when Sli was working)
30sec 1m Superpi
26m12s 32m surperpi
Reliabilty to one side, ASUS board has loads of potential, needs more BIOS updates. Sli works good, but will be better with more driver updates
I nearly got me a FX55, but thought I would wait for FX57, AMD have nailed the 90nm process this winchester 3500 runs cool as a cucumber, the FX55 really needs a GT unit to do any justice.
The other good thing is that with my Prescott I was runnning the nads off of the MachII just to keep sub-zero under load (-30 on evap head). I felt that the FX55 pumped out a bit of heat too so I would still be running higher fans speeds to keep cool.
The MachII is ultra quiet now, rear runs normal, front is midway between normal and quiet mode.
EDIT - TURNS OUT THAT THE MOBO HAD DROPPED A 3:2 DIVIDER IN THERE MEANING THAT RAM WAS RUNNING AT 171MHZ
HAVE READ THAT A8N-SLI DOES NOT LIKE RUNNING 1T ABOVE 240MHZ SO AT PRESENT I AM RUNNING 6:5, CPU IS 266X11 RAM IS 219 (2-2-2-5), MAT TRY AND PUSH SOME MORE, MORE LIKELY I'LL WAIT FOR BIOS 1004 TO BE RELEASED.
