New Members: Post your introduction!

Hi everyone,

I want to build a new PC and for the last 2 months I have started to follow YouTube channels such as linustechtips/JayzTwoCents/Tek Syndicate and others.

Yesterday I saw the "Intel 5960X 8 Core DDR4 CPU with Asus X99 Deluxe Review" on OC3D TV. This video review was better then every other reviews that I have seen on other channels so I decided to check their website, thus I created this account.

I want to build a new PC based on the new Haswell-E, I will mainly use it for 3D modeling (software such as Catia,Solidworks, 3ds max, cinema 4D), CPU rendering (Keyshot) and GPU rendering (V-ray) and I'm sure that I'll find additional information regarding the best build for my needs.

Cheers.

Republic of Gamers + Linux?

I just got a Republic Of Gamers G75VW. (Reviews)

It has Windows 7, but I would like to dual boot with Ubuntu and maybe one other distro.

I will have a lot of questions even with Googling.

I also ordered a Pandora PC that should be here this week.
My other devices are an ASUS X201E running Linux Mint and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 that I would like to load with Cyanogenmod.

My goal is to get the most out of each device and the synergy between them. The phone is always with me and the Pandora will be too. I usually have the little laptop, but the ROG will be staying home mostly.

I am interested in clusters and Message Passing Interface. I would also like to be able to do intensive jobs via remote desktop on the ROG while I am in class -would VPN be better for this?

Looking forward to learning with you.
Thanks,
Lee

Hello Everyone, I actually joined this forum to participate in a giveaway that is taking place, I have this friend who works as a nurse at very low wages (since he is a noob), so i thought this is a great chance to gift him a pc. He was and is still a hardcore gamer, actually the first guy from my group of friends to own a dedicated graphics card (8600gt). Oh, by the way, my name is hari, I am from India.

Hey Guys,

Just thought I would say hi to you all, living the reviews and the recent comp so thought I'd join up!
