New Members: Post your introduction!

hi everyone,my name's mark and im from ipswich,im a very keen game'r at the ripe old age of 41.

just finished building a new rig and im just about to go watercooling in a weeks time.

you lot seem very friendly and have only just found this forum.

i do frequent another big forum but this seem's to be home to me.

hope everyone is ok and looking forward to a long relationship with you guy's and doll's.

Hey guys!

I joined few days ago and so far so good im really happy with fast replys and really usefull tips. Thank you so far :D

Im 21 years old and i come from Slovenia little country wich borders with Austria, Hungary, Italy and Croatia (with last we aint really in good relations).

I am in OC'ing thing since i got my first computer was an old athlon but for the start it was great. But so far i have switched to Intel i was always saying i will never buy Intel.. never! Hehe time changes, so do people..

And i have to admit that Intel is leading in overclocking and this baby that i got atm E8500 is running smoothly @3.9Ghz at 1.2VCore.

Only thing wich is limiting me is board P5KPL-AM wich aint really good overclocker and im gona change that soon. It manage to come in bios with 4.3Ghz at stock cooling but it doesnt detect sata disk so it kinda sucks:D

Well thats lil' bit about me I'm glad I joined and you'll see me arround ;)

I must give as special greet to sammjj who comes from my old hometown of Hull. Its really not such a bad place to grow up in, despite what some of the media say! :wavey:

thankyou, diablo

Hull is a nice place, the media blow it out of proportion .

Hello all

Hi there everyone.

I have read a lot of reviews and articles at oc3d.net and have come to the conclusion of joining as I just bought myself a new rig built for overclocking.

I live in Norway and work as an IT-consultant. I'm 29 yrs and like spending my time off work gaming and building pc's.

I started overclocking last year with a Q6600 and P5K-C just to test what it was about and found out that I could earn alot extra with a few tweaks. Got my Q6600 up to 3,6GHz without any problems :). Didn't even touch the voltages. I realize it's alot to think about when OC'ing and therefore hope to find the answers I need here with you guys. Hopefully I can contribute when I get more experience.

I have spent a fortune on a new rig and hope to get it running in a week. I had it up, but the DIMM_B1 on my Rampage II Extreme was a no go. I have just sent it off to get a new one.

Well, that should do for an introduction I believe. I'll head off to write my first question in the forums.

Hi Trollgaard, welcome :D Sounds like oc3d jhas gained another experienced overclocker :)

I think I'll wait a bit with that "experienced" title, but I like to read up on things before I try them out, so I hope to become one soon ;).

Well considering you've done 3.6 on a Q6600 without major voltage increase sounds experienced to me :)

What kind of rig are you going to buy?

Got to agree with monkey 7 on that one troll. You don't sound to me like you live in a cave, so before you know it some of us might be asking you for help?

welcome m8. :wavey:

Guess I was lucky with my Q6600 also. I know people that has struggled to even get 3GHz. I have already bought a new rig. But sending my MB back because of a malfunctionin dimm slot. It's a Rampage II Extreme, Toughpower 850, Intel i7 920, Corsair Dominator 6GB 1600, 2xEVGA GTX280 in SLI, 2x150GB WD Velociraptor in RAID0. All pushed into an Antec 900. Hope I get a newMB fast... :)

Thats the specs for quite a rig you got there Trollgaard.

From what I've read on the reviews here there should be no need to bother overclocking it at all, LOL.

But I know you must. Hope you get your new board back soon and will post and tell us how you get on?

I would love to get an i7 cpu, but too much for me to replace the chip and board and memory all at once, so I'll just have to stick with my Q9550 OC at 3.86 stable so not too shabby.
