I used to do a bit of drag racing. '66 Chevy Belair 4 door ran p/Stock with a 283 cu/in 220 hp engine and a 4 speed tranny. I spent WAY to much money but I had alot of fun running low 14's and high 13's.
I'm spending alot of time on the forums now because I'm about to assemble a new system with 2 Ati 3870's in crossfire. It's my new form of going fast.

Wow, now that's cool. So you ran in street legal or modified categories? I'm quite a fan of Top Fuel dragsters, but like all categories really.

It was a pure stock class, but with certain modifications allowed for safety and competitiveness (is that a word?).
Any way...this weekend I hope I have time to assemble my new computer.

Hi,
I'm new to this sight and forum in general so be kind on me if I make 101 errors
I have built an air cooled overclocked PC last year and this year am looking to build a water cooled PC. The MoBo I was thinking of using was the ASUS Striker Extreme II and I was going to go Tri SLi with three ASUS GTX 280 Tops. I've read as smuch as I can but can't find anywhere that confirms if the ASUS MoBo will do Tri SLi. The Scan website describes it as the Asus Striker II Extreme, NF790i, 3-way SLI but other sights talk about only two 'blue' sockets which can be used for SLi.
Any thoughts or comments welcomed.

Hey Mad Dog - Welcome to OC3D.
It is my understanding that the Striker II should do Tri-SLI no problem - However, only the blue slots on the board are PCI-E2.0 with the remaining black one being PCI-E1.1.
All this really means is you wont see much of an improvement by adding your third card. Not just because of the PCI-E1.1 bottleneck, but also because SLI doesn't scale amazingly well.
