I thought it was Monday or Tuesday next week they are on sale so I'd guess then

Fingers crossed Nvidia's effort at a single fan and dual vapour chamber cooler is quieter and cooler that amd's poor effort.

Looking forward to Tom's review

Dubious nVidia/Gigabyte artificial benchies, from the pinch'o'salt department:

.. don't get too excited, I'd imagine if 3DMark06 (Dx9) was in there, it'd be ahead in that too ..

.. but keep in mind, most of those games, like the majority of game devs today - still - don't know what Dx11 is. As the graph would have you believe, in Dx9/Dx10 you're onto a presumed winner. Probable Dx11 release, not so.

Not fully understanding why Gigabyte have gone with the reference 607mhz tho and ASUS 612. Having said that, you can charge an extra £50 for an OC +5mhz edition !?!!?

Who knows

Interesting, i'm still waiting for 100% confirmed legit benches though and of cause video deviance from tom.

Clock speed seem low ? .. not quite the full story

I've witnessed a mod of the cooler already involving (in typical ghetto hack fashion) a couple of bits of black tape >.<

Interesting gigabyte packaging. I personally see no point to it though. I just wan't the card, that is what I am paying for. Don't mind if it comes in a cardboard box as long as it works when it gets to me. It would probably also lower the price.

Well, the majority of them will go to reviewers, who'll in turn return them to the manufacturer. There can be some sold as specials, and competition sweetners. All-in-all, the ones on the shelf will in the majority be cardboard in nature.

The POV one is about to hit the shelves, and is higher clocked than both the Gigabyte and ASUS. By a good 50mhz or so ! Imagine how much more you'll pay for something you can do via software. (standard reference cooler also)

Interestingly, the shroud clips off, suggesting 3rd party purchases that in fairness should be cheap-ish. Just a simple clip-on 2x fan shroud will do a better job, for example.
