New headphone combo

Hey

Im looking for a new headphone+mic combo for gaming (mainly BF4, Cod, Cs and WoW), some music (rap, house, trance and some rock), movies and tv shows.

My budget is 200-400£. I got a Asus Hero motherboard, and open to get an soundcard or an dac+amp.

Any recommendation?

Thanks :)

I run the FiiO olympus E10 and the DT990 PRO, the step up from "gaming" audio was amazing.

I'd go for the STX over the Essence One. The External Soundcards are way too expensive to justify them.

I've owned both the DT770s and the DT990s. I did have issues talking with the DT770s on, which is why I changed. However, since the BBC Radio DJs all wear DT770s whilst talking they obviously don't have any issues with it.

It'll depend whether you're in an noisy environment really, and whether you're bothered about others around being able to hear you.

Cool, cant wait to get an upgrade, using steel series guild wars 2 headset, got them for 10£ :P but they are horrible..

What about 5.1 or 7.1 sound in game? I know I only got 2 ears, but when I am using razer synapse software I can feel a big difference in BF4. Is this something you guys use or an external piece to get it??

Okey, most of the time im in a quiet environment..But do they leak alot? And what ohm would you go for? Im from Norway so its easier to get the 770 and alot cheaper, the 770 is 130-150£, 880 is 200£ and 990 is 230£! That is the best prices I could find.

They're significantly cheaper over here. Maybe you could try and get some shipped from the UK? Or somewhere else in Europe.

Hm..thats cheap :p But I have to pay shipping, 25% to toll customs and 12% to the post office. Maby I have to look a little more.

The pro verson is alot cheaper, but the premium seems a bit more comfy, is there any big difference there? The one I can get for 230£ is the premium one.

The Pros will be more than enough, don't worry.

I'm not too sure what you mean by comfy? They all share the same design, and the ear-pads are changeable anyway.

Where in Norway are you?

Have you checked out HiFi Klubben downtown in Oslo? Some of the music stores like 4Sound also do headphones for good prices. Probably have the DT series too.

There is a demo version of the DT770 on Komplett for just 910Nok at the moment. I have bought demo gear from them before and never had issues.

Riff.no netbutikk has the DT770 PRO for 1395,-
