Hello folks. I have followed many of the reviews you guys have done in the past few months, great work. Figured I should join the community.

I am looking to build a rig very soon and I will have some questions. Been a few years since I built my current setup.

Welcome dude, awesome you have liked the reviews. All the team here like a bit of ego bolstering like that.

Im sure we can get you a new rig spec'd and built in no time.

Not sure if I should ask here, but here we go.

I am looking to get the following to upgrade my rig.

AMD 1090T

Crosshair IV Fomula

Dominator GT Memory 8gb *I intend to do some video editing*

I am considering the Noctua D14 but I am wondering if I will need to remove the top heat sink on the Dominator GT memory to clear the Noctua. I saw on one of the reviews with the Rampage III and the Noctua D14 that the top heat sink to remove to clear. I did recently see the Redline Mushkin memory review and saw it cleared no problem.

What other memory recommendations do you have for this AMD setup? I am looking to overclock.

My other thought is to go with the Corsair H70, where clearance would not be an issue.

Thanks,

Cameron

Id get 8gb of mushkin 1600 998826 dude as it will rape the corsair and fit under the NH-D14 you deffo want as it will allow that overclocking but also be quiet

I watched the review of the MSI 870a Fuzion Power edition and now I am contemplating that board vs. the crosshair IV formula.

I know lucid is a big difference. Any other things that stand out?

Where can I buy one, having trouble finding one online?

Thanks

the MSI is a better overclocker and has the lucid chip o and its cheaper

the ROG board has fancy bits n bobs is expensive and lots of powerphases etc etc

its down to personal pref between themto IMO

After quite a bit of searching it looks like the MSI board is not going to be released in the United States. Anyone know of a EU retailer that has them?

Thanks,

Cameron
