New GTX card, driver question?

I just bought a GTX 1060 to replace my GTX 670.
Do I need to uninstall the drives for the GTX 670 before installing the new card, or do I just leave it as is and swap in the new in?

Thanks

Hey there!

You ought to use this program called DDU https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Select the third option that uninstalls the driver then shutdowns the machine.

This will remove the old driver and any leftovers and will shutdown the machine for you making sure that windows won't re-install the drivers via the windows update that will cause conflictions and blue screens of death and since it turns of the machine lets you go in and replace that graphics card.

NEVER should you swap graphics cards without uninstalling the previous driver, and this program does all the job for you

Enjoy your upgrade :)

Thanks for that
Should I uninstall Geforce Experience as well? And when it boots back up should I use Geforce Experience to install the new Drivers? Or does the DDU do it for me?

Yes just un install everything and re install everything.

Its not necessary to uninstall Geforce experience. It hasnt been known to cause any issues when upgrading. At least not as far as I am aware.

The new version was causing game crashes and blue screens for me and it looks and feels quite clunky and your required to have an account to use it now. i threw it off and stuck with the old version, set the options for shadowplay right and never open experience again.

Thanks, I used DDU program and it did the Job.

BTW, I bought the Zotac 1060 AMP Edition after watching the review of it here at OC3D.
