Time for a ram upgrade, so sold my 4x512mb ddr2-pc4200 which survived alot of abuse, and time for one of those. I'll eventually get another, but this stuff is brand new from G.Skill, I had some inside info on when newegg was getting it and was hitting refresh yesterday till it showed up ;)

DDR2-800 @ 4/4/3/5

I'm wondering what IC and PCB honestly. I dont think its D9GMK but it might be.

New mobo when I sell another unit, this is a reward to myself for Cupcake's repair and rebuild. New GFX maybe after that, but I still spend alot on phase.

They seem to be picky who they retail too, can't help you there specialtech :(.

This should be very fun sticks though.

At that price and speed it's hard to tell. D9GMH is possible but don't count on it. Promos or Elpida is highly plausible for that price. Timings make me unsure though. 6-Layer definitely. Brand, who knows. Nobody really talks about PCB brand like they used to.

Hmm.. now that I look at the timings more, the tight TRAS is really impressive. Still, I can't see it being anything in the Micron category for the price. My 1GBGA's were $150/stick. D9GMH of course. Luff them.

They look very nice, lovin' the white heat spreader. I got really annoyed when I saw the price but I calmed down a little when I noticed it was only 1Gb and not 2. Still a damn sight better value than we get over here!

I'm pretty sure they are D9GMH of course, but the timings are odd. Also the fact that I have private info saying this batch is 'unusual, but not as in a different brand of ic unusual'

Woohoo,

Promo IC's it would appear. Not as good as micron but I dont plan on the normal high voltage abuse as I normally do. These chips can generally acheive ddr2-1200 though @ 5/5/5/15 with 2.45volts. Past 2.45volts though most people say they don't respond well, in truth like a cpu they want better cooling.

Promo's on an 8 layer PCB are the best, but promo's are good. I don't feel like dropping out the extra cash really for pc-8000 just to get some D9.

Yeah. Could've gotten some ballistix 667's or 800's, they have D9 :).

My sisters rig has a gig of ballistix DDR2-800 in it, works nicely. (2x512)

EDIT: Thing about D9 is, it degrades VERY easily.

I'm actually thinking about going Conroe also. I'm looking at E4300/XBX2 Combo. I'm liking the E4300 because of cheap price and 9x multi. Who cares about "VT or Virtualization Tech" or whatever the hell it is.
