New fans for my fractal R3

Hi there guys, im looking at putting some more fans into my fractal R3 case. Now at the moment it has stock cooling which is 1 120mm in the front and 1 120mm in the rear.

Now I'm thinking of putting a new fan in the front but what to get? Shall I just stick with fractal own branded stuff or is it worth spending a bit more on 3rd party stuff?

What's your rationale for putting more fans? Are your temps too high? If so what hardware are you running?

In a word "no" they are not running too high, but with only 1 fan in the front AND a door I dont think the single fan can suck enough air into the front threw the small grill between the door and the chassis. I am just looking more into the future rather then solving any problem now.

For me that's the perfect scenario running 2 * 120mm fans at less than 1000 rpm and your temps are fine. I wouldn't bother tbh, when the temps are too high or your existing ones are too noisy, that's the time to add more fans.

I'm confused now. You say that's a perfect scenario having two fans and then you say you wouldn't put a new one in lol.

So would you put another fan in the front?

If you are happy with your temps then no. The only thing another fan in the front might help you with is if you are suffering from a lot of dust in your system. Having slight positive pressure will ensure that the air entering your system is dust filtered rather than being drawn in through the vented pci slots etc.

I run 2 x 110cfm Scythe Slipstreams as intake and 1 x 133cfm Ultra Kaze as exhaust and use my mobo for fan control to keep it all quiet and my temps are awesome. I've got my Q-fan profile set to ramp up the fan speeds to 100% as the CPU temperature hits 50*.

What sheroo mentioned is very right. If you don't really need those extra fans, it's not necessary to add more in. The 1 in 1 out fan orientation would be quite adequate if you don't have a lot of hard drives or running a very warm video card.

Deffo agree with the above, if your rig is doing alright with what you have now there is no reason to spend more money on something you won't get a lot of bennefit from unless of course the current ones are either noisy or aren't doing the job
