Hi everyone

So I'm looking for some new in-ear style earphones for my brother and he is looking to spend up to £60.

There's so many out there on the market now that he doesn't know which ones to buy, so I thought I would turn to the forums

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Cheers

I got a Klipsch Image S4 for around £50 a while back, I think its more expensive now though. Great pair and I'd recommend them all the time.

Wow I was looking for new in-ear headphones as my 3rd pair of Senny CX3's just died on me.

Thanks for the recommendation too!

I had the CX500s a while back, loved em, especially for £12 off Amazon, but after these Klipsch I doubt I'll go backwards now

Klipsch really do make nice headphones though

I got some LE ultimate ears (owned by logitech) when i got my iPhone they were around £65 and they're amazing. I don't think the same model is being made now but i can't see the newer version being worse!!

I have heard good things of klipsch mind you

What are these like with bass then? My earbuds have just fubared and Im looking for a set too. These look ok but I really do like my bass!

Has anyone tried these (Beyerdynamic DTX100) or similar models:

Apparently they have some good bass

Speaking personally from my experience with the Image S4's, the bass is pretty clean, not muddy like so many other pairs. But the thing I love most is the power that comes with it, its quite something. Bass is probably one of the strong points for these buds. I would only imagine more expensive models are even better, but I don't know what kind of budget you are looking at

You could also go with ultimate ears by logitech.

Some of the ear buds have 3 drivers in each, one for bass, mids, and highs.

$299.99 for these

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/speakers-audio/earphones they can all be found here.

But yea i recommend the Klisch S4 or any other earbud by them. Or you could go with Klipsch image one which are more headphones but sound AMAZING!!

also the benefit with the klipsch stuff is that it has a controller if you happen to have an iphone. unfortunately the controller does not work for Android :/

I bought some iBeats for £80 to replace my Etymotic Research pair... Great if you have an i device.

They can kick out a nice amount of bass and have the inline controller / hands free.

If you want bass with your earphones Skullcandys? but the bass is more about oomph than clarity from what my friends tell me.

If you're willing to dish out the money I've heard good things about Monster Turbines.

Skullcandy's are awful imo, they have power but not the clarity you would want. Monster Turbines are OK, and some reviews are good, but they tend to average out lower than the rest of the competition.

With headphones there is a big difference once you start spending over £100 or so, its quite surprising.

I hope you don't plan on extended use with earphones, I can't last longer than two hours either earbuds or in-ear earphones before it actually hurts. I still prefer headphones. But the best earphones I've had the pleasure of owning were ~$30 Audio-Technica earbuds, the most accurate sound of any earphone I've owned, low priced, reliable, and comfortable. The worst are the Sony's, the bass is always so damn overemphasised and fake, I keep giving Sony chances but they keep spoiling music.

I can't spend too much on earphones, I only use them on portables and that means I destroy them frequently. I'm currently using AKG K311, the ergonomics pee me off so much I can't be bother listening to sound quality.

I feel ya. I listen to about 5 hours of music per day, comfort is paramount.

CX500's lasted me a couple thousand hours though. Also the decent in ear headphones will have comfortable earbuds, so its not such an issue
