New Dual Xeon Build

The time has come to move on to something different. My X99 machine is being moved from my computer shop to my home. And it is being replaced with a dual Xeon machine.

It is still a work in progress as I just got it up and running on Friday and haven't had much time to do anything with it.

At the time being I have a pair of Noctua NH-U12S coolers on it, but may end up with some water cooling for the looks. And the case has so much freakin' room for it!

The Specs:

Intel Xeon E5-2695 V3 X2 (14 cores/28 threads each)
Noctua NH-U12S X2
Asus Z10PE-D16 WS (mainly picked because of the IPMI built in over the D8 model)
Crucial 32GB (4X8GB) Registered DDR4-2133 - need four more to make it quad channel but it was start to get it going
Samsung 950 Pro M.2 512GB
Very old WD Green 1TB for games that complain about a network installation like Blizzard.
Gigabyte GTX 980 G1 Gaming (stole from the X99 build)
Thermaltake Core X9
EVGA Supernova 1300 G2
Windows 10 Pro 64
Corsair K95 RGB
Corsair M95

I use three screens, the center which is 4K and the outside two are 1440P. Replacing those 1440P with 4K to bring the 1440s home as well.

The audio on it I would say is better then that on my Rampage V Extreme. I found that pretty surprising.

You can see they were originally the same orientation, but later on switched to push on one and pull on the other. It was a big pain in the ass with how close they were and getting the fan clips on proper. I had to do some experimenting with one CPU, which meant I had to remove one and redo it.

Glad you got the images sorted out (first post needs fixing if possible)

Only thing I can say really is shame about the ThermalTake case :/

Fixed those images. I moved over to the new computer and never figured out how to get the Lightroom plugin to copy its data over as well. So I had to create a fresh album and start over with the images on my server. Otherwise I ended up with two albums of the same name.

I like the case. Works out a lot better then the Switch 810 I was using which barely fits the board. I wanted more of a cube style.

ThermalTake is a dirty word for any true enthusiast. #thermaltacky

I don't see anything tacky about this case in particular. However, for years they have been and I haven't bought a Thermaltke product in many years. I think they are finally starting to come back around again with this new TT line. But anyways all that really matters is if I enjoy it as it is mine. I don't recall there being much to choose from in terms of large cube style cases other then Case Labs for about 4 times the price.

Today my NZXT Hue+ came in so that is in there. Still waiting for my new side panel window to get done with a laser etching of my company in the side.

I do have water cooing sitting in my Performance PC shopping cart I keep getting annoying emails about to purchase. That will take up some of that empty space once I do it.

Don't listen to the haters BigDaddy. TT, even though they are copycat crooks, DO make some nice stuff from time to time. Your case is one of them, and their wall mountable Core P5 is sweet case too.

That P5 really looked sweet, but not big enough for my board!

Choice is choice. As the OP mentioned as long as he's happy then that's all we need to know. Completely different story if he was after new case advice of course...
Disclaimer - I'm a former TT owner (PSU)

Back on topic - Looking forward to seeing what else you fit in there.

I'm glad I have actual Intel USB 3 ports now. Those 10 Asmedia ports on the RVE are junk. Some devices only worked in certain ones and my hard drive dock dropped out randomly while cloning customers drives and such. Now I have less but they all work and no dropping out!

Got this last night. This will be my new side panel window. Right now the original window is removed so he can cut the new one out the same size and the mounts in the same spots.

Here are some shots with the new 1/4" acrylic piece in. Also swapped out the nasty red PCIe power cable with a black one from another PSU here.

Love the build. Doing something similar myself, but with dual E5-2670 v1 cpu's. I was also looking at the same Thermaltake case that you chose. But instead Im going to take my X99 build out of my Caselabs M8 and put the dual xeon build in there.

Very nice system dude! Only thing I'd personally change is the case. Not even just cause of the brand, but it's maaaaassive. It even makes that huge motherboard with dual tower heatsinks and a very long graphics card look tiny and a bit lost.

Other than that.... I want your hardware! And as Nhirlathothep said, nice photography :)

pics are beautiful! (Are you a professional photographer?)
But this pc it s horrible! (aesthetics)

Considering you have something negative to say about every build log/ gallery you comment on, I feel it's time you make one of your own and show us how it's done perfectly (apparently) then ;)

I used to be with you guys in the hating on ThermalTake, but I take it back these days.

Ok, ok they have somewhat ripped off caselabs design where possible, but I do see improvements on the fans, watercooling parts and cases. I still wouldn't touch any of their hardware but in terms of the new case lineup, I see potential at a very adequate cost.

And I really hope Nhirlathothep isn't BigBlue come back to haunt us all ;)

Personally I see nothing wrong with the Aesthetics. It is done tastefully and with plenty of customisation options. :)
