Hey guys,

I want to spend my hard earned

christmas money on a mostly new rig.

My budget is around 500€, if possible less.

The CPU and MB is pretty much fixed, but not entirely.

In terms of RAM I really don't know, because of the maximum 1,65V and stuff, so I hope on you guys.

My "first try" looked like this:

CPU: 2500K

MB: Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4

RAM: 4GB Kingston????

Edit:My CPU-waterblock is a Enzotech Sapphire and it will get a new retention module to mount it on 1155

Best greetings from Germany

I have Crucial Ballistix Tracers, a 4GB kit, DDR2, 800MHZ and are rated at C4. However, if I run it at anything lower than 5-5-5-15 my system won't even boot into windows. The best ram? Ehhm, nope.

Yeah, because a one off problem clearly means all Crucial RAM is like that...

Lol never said that, but you implied that Crucial ram is pretty much the best ram out there which obviously isn't true. Every decent ram brand makes stable kits, and when it comes to speed Crucial haven't kept up with the market lately. Mushkin ram is much better tbh. Maybe those new Crucial kits will prove to be great, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Well I didn't mean to get a big discussion about brands on here.

Thanks to all who posted.

I think I will go with some Mushkin as far as the budget allows it.
