New Comp For Ionicle

ooh ive an idea lets get him one of those touch screens you find on atms's

seriosuly though itsa a good point about his "future proofing" as he puts it. i fail to see the point of him getting a new souped up mobo when he'll probably just break it.

that about locking the case nd bios might actually happen, as hes not allowed to even touch a case without getting a smacked wrist at the moment. if daves celly boards going cheap with the cpu , ill get him to get that, because from the OC youve done it imust be a good stable setup to say the least. oh, and one last thing, do you know where to get plastic seals from so i can tell if ionicles been messing with his new comp when he gets it? im not saying hes stupid, far from it, its just he has a crazy theory that by turning voltages up to too high he can make it run faster. and besides, im spending so much time fixing his rigs tht i dont seem to get any time to work on my own.

i know, he wont accept it though, he seems to think that if the cpu is getting more power it wont get under load as easy.. what a crazy child..hang on ill do a word equation if ionicles watching this.

high voltage + no fsb, memory, or mulitplyer adjustment = Very hot processor running at stock speed/ KABOOM!

does everyone on this forum think i am incalable of not destroyin things?:mad: is it just me who has confidence in my abilties?:mad: and all i need is a new mobo, and a new power unit, as my processor as kempez said somwere is a god and pritty hardy processor, but no1 believes i can do anything!:(

Ian you don't have the best track record with PC's to be fair. Plus we're just kidding.

I do think maybe a new mobo and PSU may do it. BUT you need to have more respect for PC components. In fact - there are a lot of people I know who need to have more respect for PC componenets.

Plus you have to appreciate it if people lend you money for stuff and also for people who help you.

I do think maybe that deepfried and others have gone a bit OTT with this, but he knows you better than I.

Lets just be a bit nicer from now eh?
 
If he is going to use a socket a motherboard and processor, i suggest a7n8x-e deluxe for the motherboard, and processor-wise, 2800+ barton. I used this combo for about a year and have never had problems. And since I am about to upgrade to 64, it is forsale... ;) SO in that case, I will sell my motherboard and cpu together, or seperate, to ionicle or whoever. If you are interested, ask me

lets face it ionicle you dont make a very good example for yourself by continually destroying stuff do you? i mean seriously a surge protector is basics.
 
i checked today and it turns out ati put two lots of resistors on each card as standard, i geusse its so that if one gets chipepd off or just dies then the power can still use another route.

hes using an arctic cooling freezer from what i can remember, its quite a good heatsink, as in its quiet nd gets the job done, its a little ugly though mind you, but at 11 quid you cant lose.

right im going to his house to set everythign up, ill tell you how its gone when i get back......if i ever do
