So I am going to be taking the plunge with a whole new build. After being promoted I am finally able to get the things I want haha! Certificates FTW!

This is my build down to the fans. I am confused on AMD's GPU naming scheme? I look at the R9-Fury and see radically different priced cards with the same specs so I went with the least expensive one since they are the same at the end of the day. This will be a gaming rig for sure, a small one at that. I don't like to just slap parts I have specific reasons for them.

The reason for the parts:
Case: Size and function, looks, Cable management
MOBO: Small and powerful
RAM: Fastest on the QVL
CPU: Gaming rig has no real benefit of HT and I can still satisfy my OC craves
GPU: Best bang for the buck, xFire ability, cooling capabilities
Storage: M.2 2280 128GB for boot due to speed, 1TB SSD for EVERYTHING else, 3TB WD RED for backups of all computers.
PSU: 1000w to create as little stress on the PSU as possible and offer headroom for anything I could want including reliable power flow for overclocking. This will make the PSU the quietest it can be.
RAD fans: Pressure fans, Red accents, quiet
Circulatory fans: 140 quiet exhaust, 200 quiet intake

I also chose every part based on reputability. I would like any opinions such as accessories (fan controllers and the such), different parts and why. My budget is $2000 TOPS. And my goal is to make the most purposeful Gaming first Overclocking second computer I can.
 
OK firstly I would wait for Zen. We're talking like 6 weeks.

The cooler is not good. Well it is, but apparently according to the reviews I read the fans have speed selectors like, on them and they are almost impossible to access once the cooler has been fitted.

GPU is a good choice, but for the love of god DO NOT run Crossfire in any shape or form right now or in the future until DX12 either works or proves once and for all that multi GPU is a bad idea. Even in the games it apparently works in it flickers etc, all of the reasons that I sold one of mine. It was terrible.

128gb SSD for the OS.. Yeah, see now I would go 256. 128 is a bit close and you will be forever cleaning it and moving stuff around once Windows is all on there and bloats out. 128 is fine if you want to keep on top of it. I still run a 128, but only because it's a Revodrive and fast.

Don't waste money on Dominators. I did it, you will regret it. They look nice but there are plenty of cheaper options out there that also look nice. Put the money toward a bigger SSD.

Now really isn't the time to be buying memory either. Maybe it will settle back down again when Zen comes out? no idea.

Not sure why you need a 1100w PSU on a ITX rig. Hardly like you can add another GPU later :S seems a bit weird, but if it's cheap then hey why not.

I never had issue with the cooler I had. Although I am thinking about buying a nicer AIO from XPSC or Swiftech or Alphacool and may use a fan controller of sorts.

I am very familiar with scaling issues. I just stated it as an option, this is why I chose a more powerful card for single GPU performance.

Yeah I will likely bump that to 256. I had a 128GB and never really had to manage anything but I should now that Windows 10 is so fast I'll end up putting more core launch apps on the M.2.

I have used Dominators for years in all my rigs and never had an issue. Again though I would like something on the QVL, these just happened to be the fastest on the list. Being on the QVL almost guarantees success with the motherboard and overclocking. I am very anal about these things.

It's an ATX build :P and I tend to go overkill just to stress the PSU the least, get the best efficiency, and offer headroom. I will likely get an 850 though but they didn't have any I saw at the time.

KOS as has been said wait for Zen
Get a different CPU cooler IE NZXT's new cooler or a Corsair
The Dom Plats are awesome I own them but with your chipset virtually all ram will work with your system you could get the vengeance for less and the same speed and put the money to a bigger ssd as alienalx said
The rest sounds ok to me

I plan on overclocking the CPU and RAM as much as I can, even though I am overly worried about getting QVL RAM I like knowing that it is on the list thus making overclocking easier due to easier troubleshooting if an OC fails. I like the NZXT and especially the Corsair but I have a bit more in the budget I think I can buy like an Alphacool AIO. That would allow for customization in the future.

TBH you can get the EVGA Supernova G2 for about $40.00 cheaper and there's nothing wrong with EVGA PSU's there made bye SuperFlower, I'm not really impress with the RMi series PSU i own one too.

IMO the reason why the Corsair is $40 more is cause of Corsair Tax.
 
Dominators are not what they once were tbh. They are mass produced now. Plus that was back when Corsair made memory better than any one else. Now you have a lot of companies who know what they are doing and the gap has tightened to almost nothing.

Still if you can afford it then why not :)

I doubt you are sleeving the PSU? but if you are avoid it. RMi are sleever's worst nightmares. Had a couple of the guys I know through water cooling send theirs back recently when they found out about the ripple caps in the cables.

Still being on the QVL though. At least Asus tested them on this particular board. If they have an issue I'll go with someone else. I'll looked at the QVL again and see what else I can find.

Luckily 3rd party manufactures already make sleeved cables for the Corsair line of PSU's.

I wanted to play with the PSU monitoring features more than anything haha 😋
 
Just want to check something, incase i misread it. You chose a 120mm AIO which I assume you want push pull.

As the others said, maybe get a better one there. But I see you have 4 SP120 fans in your list. You chose 2x double packs. Possibly a mistake or perhaps you are going for a 240 AIO?

in push pull config you will only gain around 2-3C just so you know :) If you are sticking with a single 120 rad then yeah go for it, but for a 240 AIO i think you are good with just a push setup if you want to save on cash to focus elsewhere.

Yeah I opted to do push pull on the GPU rad and jut push on the 240. Can't decide on getting the h115i or the h100gtx now...

That is very true. I just forgot that option haha.

EDIT: So slight update again to the latest PCpartPicker. It is the same thing EXCEPT I changed out the AIO for the H115i as it is a 280 RAD and is $60 cheaper. I chose the 16GB dual 8GB per stick variant of the same Corsair memory, it is only $100. And for fans I am still sticking with Be Quiet pressure fans in push for the 280 RAD and push pull for the 120mm rad and 140 air flow ones for the 2 intakes.

If anyone has advice on good pressure BLACK fans that are low noise and good high airflow ones for the intake I am all ears. Otherwise I will be sticking with Be Quiet.

Corsair ML140 Pro's in 120/140, Fractal Design Venturi HP in 120/140, EK Vardar in 120, Corsair SP120 in 120... To name a few :)

I am familiar with Corsair fans. I have used them before. The Be Quiet ones are a couple of db quieter though. I want to make this the quietest I can. I will check out EK and Fractal as I'm familiar with both of them as well.

I have all Corsair AF and SP fans in my rig now and it's so quiet that I can't hear it ovee my mini fridge. And even then I now have started to check now and then, to see if it's still on, since it's so quiet ^_^

And this is sitting right next to it, with no side panels on as well.
