Right nearly at the final revision before the buying phase lol, I have pretty much decided on the below:

CPU - AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1100T

Cooler - Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator CPU Cooler

SDD - OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB

Mobo - Asus Crosshair IV Formula AMD 890FX

RAM - 8GB Mushkin Blackline LV (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz 9-9-9-24

GCard - Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6870 1024MB

Case - NZXT Phantom Enthusiast Full Tower Case - Black

PSU - Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 850W V2

I think I have done pretty good and only gone over budget by about £3. I did look at the Sata 3 compatiable SSD's on the market but I think I will get better performance from putting 2 x OCZ Vertex 2E in RAID0. TBH the read/write speeds on the sata3 ssd's didnt seem very impressive at all and my budget wont stretch to buying 2 and putting them in RAID0.

I really like the looks of your rig but there is one thing I would personally change. I myself would be very tempted to go to with a 6950 and then do a bios flash to unlock it to a 6970 as this, in my mind at least, would give you the best prise for performance ratio. This is the card I would personally go for and this review also links through to a page showing you how to do it http://www.techpower...ozr_III/27.html

I would only go this route however if this is something you feel comfortable doing, and if you didn't intend doing any overclocking after that. If you want a card you can tweet and play with constantly then go for a real 6970.

Edit: I've just noticed that you said you where going for a 6870, I thought you'd put 6970. I'm sorry, I've just woken up. That said, with the price difference between the 6870 and 6950 you might still find this a preferable choice given the performance you would get from the card. Heck, I wish I'd have known about it before I brought a 6850. Mind you, given the £80~ difference at the time, maybe it's better that I didn't

I think your more of a gamer than me m8, I have had my current system up and running for about 3 months now and I only got round to installing CoD Black Ops last Sunday lol....I kinda had a budget in mind for this rig so I am pretty much gonna stick with it now

I have changed RAM again thou and gone for the below:

This RAM has tighter timings and is also red so should look good in the case
