New build problems - wont boot

yeah I got most of it from Aria.

I just got off the phone with them, they agreed that the bios could be out of date and I could either tear down the 3 pc's, send the boards back and they will flash the new BIOS's or I can buy another Haswell (non refresh) flash the BIOS myself and then RMA it so im doing that!.

What a pain. These were meant to be simple builds, 3 in 1 day, OS on by Monday collected Wednesday, job done, but like all well made plans........

At least they offered that you can RMA the CPU after using it. They didn't have to do that :)

Oh, be careful not to get another Haswell refresh. Both Celerons on their site seem to be Haswell Refresh chips. You can check by going to ark.intel.com and search for the CPU in question. If the release/launch date says Q2'14, it's a Haswell refresh.

I did check it was the earlier model. they didn't really get much choice in me RMA'ing it, it was either me RMA a £37 CPU or I send back 3 motherboards and have them send me 3 other ones that have a new bios flashed already.

You're getting new boards? Tbh, I think they're just going to flash them for you...

No im not getting new boards. I said to them that I can buy a £37 CPU and send it back to them or they can have all 3 boards back.

Anyway, the CPU is here so hopefully ill get time to play around with it all later. Fingers crossed this works.

****UPDATE****

Older gen chip arrived, put it in, booted to BIOS and it had BIOS F4! So flashed new BIOS swapped to the Haswell refresh CPU and it booted first time.
