New build OS help...

Hi all, im about to build a new gaming system and have an external dvd drive. Is it possible to use the external drive to install windows or should i make a USB install...? I dont have access to a PC as im currently on an iMac so software will be a small problem. Any help that you can give will be great. Thank you

Yeah that would be fine. You just need to give 1st boot priority to the external drive.
