New build for new year

I’m hoping to upgrade my pc in the new year, Cpu wise I will be using one of these I think, i5 9600K, i5 8600K, Socket 1151 Coffee Lake Processors or an i7-7740X, all of the cpu’s can be had from £250 and under and are able to have a good 5ghz overclock which is a must for me. Now which motherboards do you Guy and Gals thinks I should look at and which Ddr 4 memory.
I will be using my current case which is a Nzxt H44 red and black, not sure if I will treat myself to a new graphics card or use my old NVidia, GTX 670, I don’t play games on my pc at all, all I do is download from news groups and the likes lol and watch programs on large tv.

If that's your use case, it boggles the mind that you want a high end CPU at 5GHz.


Anyhow, to my knowledge AsRock makes some of the best z370 and z390 boards, mainly since they seem to manage better memory OC.


But for an i5 I'd grab the cheapest "mid tier" board, which seems to quite often be some variant z370 strix. They have pretty poop VRM but should manage those CPUs fine.

looz thanks for the comment ,i can understand you not undestanding lol but that just what i want is a 5ghz pc set up without breaking my pockets. I chose those cpu's because through all my reading those fall within my current budget and any of them will deffo do 5ghz plus overclocked, will look at Asrock and see what takes my fancy.
