Damn Gelid wings are expensive.

Yes they are not cheap, and, as I found out, not easy to find either--the blue ones anyway. They do look very similar to the UV blue fans so be careful. I had to source mine from two different vendors, being in the states. I think Aquatuning always had the best prices around $16 USD or like 10.5 GBP. They are German based I think so you can likely get them more easily though their prices may be different.

I went for the Gelids because, after hearing that the Phobya fans were poor performers, they have removable rotors and had a nice blue color. "Decent" static pressure for an LED if I remember correctly as well; nothing close to the gently typhoons I'm using but I'm only using the Gelids for case fans and on one pull-side of one of the rads, mostly for show.

Another plus is that the fans come with an extra long fan cable (about 30 cm) and the sleeving is some of the nicer but if you're into sleeving yourself you'll probably want to replace it if you're after perfection.

The one real drawback for me was the open-frame design, unlike the gentle typhoons that I'm used to. It made for the need for come creative solutions in attaching them to the rads as well as other parts of the case.

I ended up using this plastic stock spacing material and chopping it to provide support for the fan frame.

You can easily wreck the frames if you crank down with bolts running from one side to the other. They're just not meant for it.

They come with, among other things, rubber plugs which you can force through one side of the frame then through the screw hole of the case (for example). They are fairly sturdy, not having broken the few that I experimented with, but once, on are not that easy to remove. Especially in some of the tight places they went into in the case and I ended up cutting them out--no patience.

Anyway, there's most of my thoughts on the Gelid Wing 12PLs.

Thanks for the info on the Gelid fans i'm thinking of getting some for case fans, they are the best looking LED fans I have seen and they have good specs, which is something most LED fans lack.
