Some friends and I have started messing about with video creation/editing. Unfortunatly, Sony Vegas and a 4 year old machine aren't really cutting it any more and we want a new computer to run Adobe Production Premium cs6. I'll also be using the new computer for making/recording music mostly using FL Studio. We will probably end up gaming on it too. I imagine the usage of the computer will be pretty evenly split across those three areas.
Here is what I've put together on newegg. plan on going dual gtx 680s also but they were out of stock so couldn't add to list.
I went with 2 of the corsair kits for a total of 64gb of ram. was planning on using 32 of it as a ramdisk(scratchdisk)
I got the 120 ssd for the OS drive. I wanted to have a seperate drive for my games so that's what the 240 ssd is for. Got steam running to an independant ssd on my current system and I like it.
I also decided on the h100 'cause I'm to much of a baby to actually water cool and I hate the look of giant cpu fans.
I'm mostly curious if it's worth it to get the 2x gtx 680s. I have the money but I don't want to waste money if I don't need to. I've been playing a lot of civ 5 lately and my current pos (i7930, 5870) bogs down a lot. I would hate to spend this much to still not be able to run all the games out right now at full settings. I use a 2560x1600 main monitor and a 1920x1080 secondary.
I'm also wondering if the ram is good. Would it be worth the large price jump to go for faster memory?
also if someone has a suggestion for a less hidious motherboard it would be awesome.
Any suggestions/opinions would be greatly appreciated.
