need some advice, please :)

Hello!
I'm really noob when it comes to computers and technology, so I'm not too confident about the parts I found myself and especially about finding out whether they are compatible, e.g. concerning ram-volt or if they fit well in the case. I hope you can help me there. I don't need my PC to be too good, maybe try some new games at decent graphics and fps.. I want to spend 900€ tops, less is always better

My list:
CPU: i5-3570k (I don't intend to oc too much/at all, as I would probably just break something, and I read that this is the better option over the 2500k then
will add a scythe mugen 3 rev.b there

GPU: my choice would have been the Sapphire HD 7850 2048MB, I wanted to get the 6950 before. Read that the latter one can be a bit loud and eats more power, however a mate likes the 6950 better, so I'm not too sure, I guess experienced ppl can give me best advice here. Or maybe have a different suggestion. (I also read the 7850 flickers for some guys)

Motherboard: I don't really know, was told I don't really need to spend too much there considering my needs, so I added the ASRock Z77 Pro4 Intel Z77 there without an alternative so far, I just searched for a z77 for around 100€ as the cpu has this chipset; don't know if I need a z77 then or if something else is fine, too. Feel free to suggest another one!

Memory: Well, I was told that I need to watch the volt there, concerning the cpu?or motherboard? not sure and they also sometimes don't fit because of the case or gpu, so need advice please :P
2x4gb, but which brand and model?

HD: will get a caviar blue or black 500gb, depending on the final setup costs

Case: My choice is the CoolerMaster Elite 430 as it's not too expensive and promises good airflow and size (I hope)

PSU: That will be the XFX Pro, I assume 550W will do, I will see about that when I know all the parts.

additional fan: noctua NF-P12

This is it I guess, already bought a random dvd-drive, ssd will not be bought (yet); hope I didn't miss anything..So yea, give me lots of advice please and don't talk to prefessionally, because I understand as much about that topic as your mom..Also english is -surprisesurprise- not my mothertongue.
Thanks in advance!

First, I'd change the cooler for a Bequiet one, as it'll be quieter, and the Scythe mounting systems artent the best: http://www.ebuyer.com/387584-be-quiet-dark-rock-advanced-bk014?utm_source=google&utm_medium=products

GPU - 7850 is probably the best bang for buck card in that price range. If the GTX 660ti comes out before you buy this then that may be worth a look, but otherwise the 7850 is fine.

Motherboard - MSI Z77A-G45.

Corsair or Mushkin RAM. Look for 1600mhz, 9-9-9-24 timings at 1.5v. ie: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Comp...DDR3+SDRAM+CAS+9-9-9-24+1.5V+?productId=44336

Power supply - Get a Corsair CX500 or CX600 - preferably CX600 as it's only like £5 more than the CX500.

Regarding the overclocking, we'll come to that later, but it's very easy on Ivybridge, and you arent going to break anything. We'll get you through that fine! :)

as a user of the coolermaster elite 430 case i would say its a great low budget case, it has adequate airflow for my overclocked 1090t and sli gtx 460s. however it can be hard to keep the case tidy looking with the lack of cabling options, especially with thee cpu power cable ( i managed to have the cable between the motherboard and the motherboard tray but its really hard to fit the board like this). also with large air coolers the top two fan slots are unusable, i use a thermolab trinity which prevents the use of one of the fans.

i plan on putting my updated rig on the rig gallery soon, so you can see anything i did to help tidy it up.

I don't really care whether it looks tidy, but I think I wanted to use one of those slots..
any other not too expensive suggestions?

Corsair are fantastic, as well as having great power supplies they offer great customer services and good warranties.

As for the ram, If you are going with a big cooler then I would think you would be best going with the LP

The very high end XFX PSUs are alright, the low ones arent the best.

All the corsair ones are good though, regardless of which you're wanting - so just choose Corsair

I see, okay^^

about the case, I just looked through some top customer rated ones for around 50 pounds at overclockers and found the antec 302 best; reviews tell it offers enough space for cables and fan.. Is there any reason, I should not buy it?

It's Antec? There's a reason :)

Nah, Antec cases arent that bad, just a little over priced IMO.

How about the Bitfenix Shinobi? That's around the budget

It's no smaller than the Antec case. I used to have the 300 myself, and it was just too hard to work with really - even after cutting my own cable management holes

I do think CM make the best economy products.

Don't buy a case with tonnes of, frankly, useless features, you'll wish you'd have kept the money for other parts later on. I'm reffering to cases charging £50 odd premiums just for a couple of handles - you really won't care for them when months go by between moving your rig.

What about spending a little more and getting a CM 690?

Either go the 'decent rig that does the job' route with an Elite 430 and the like or 'punting for world record OCs' route and get something with a couple of 140mm mounts in the roof and a wod of 120mms or 200/ 210/ 220/ 230/ 240mm fan in the side and a 120 or 140 mount at the rear. No point buying premium budget gear or budget premium gear, it's just going to end up half baked.

Wait, are you supporting me there? I'm confused :)

The lite version is only £16 more expensive that the Elite 430, and is a way better case. Well worth the £16 IMO

Alright, thanks for the comments, I had to focus on other things for a while, so I will order this or next week. Before doing so, I'd like to ask one last time for a final approval on my setup or alternating suggestion :)

CPU: i5 3570k (BX80637I53570K) 220€
+ be quiet! Dark Rock Advanced (BK014) 53€
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45 120€
GPU: Sapphire HD 7850 (11200-07-20G) 204€ (incl. 3 games of which I heard of 1, if ordered at overclockers) I guess the 11200-24-20G is a pre-OC-ed one?
HD: WD Caviar Blue (WD5000AAKX) 64€
I was told that 16MB Cache may be annoying when watching HQ video, I don't think waiting few seconds to buffer everything not-live would bother me much; is there anything else that would make me go for the black one instead?
PSU: Corsair CX500
or do I need 600? (if you suggest the black HD, still the same PSU?)
RAM: Corsair CL9 8GB (CML8GX3M2A1600C9) 46€
Case: CM Elite 430 (RC-430-KWN1) 44€
The LED-light goes off when the PC is shut down, right? Also do you have any experience in how to regulate the built-in fan? One review said it running at 100% is a little loud.. Or is it located in the top corner where I'd replace it with the one below?
+fan: noctua NF-P12 20€

Brings me to a final of ~830€ or £660

As mentioned, I never got engaged in PC's or technologic stuff at all, will be the first PC I build myself, the second I will own, so some questions may appear silly, sorry :)
Besides I lose more and more interest in PC-games, so if you have a different article lowering the performance not too much while being considerably cheaper, let me know!

Thanks in advance!

The CX500 will be fine.

The LED fan does go off yes - but unless you have some way to tone down the fan it will run at full pelt. If you're ordering from overclockers, may I recommend:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CM-102-BX
If you find that too loud still, you can rewire it very very easily to run at 5v too - but 7v should be fine really.
Other than that - why the NF-P12? That's a static pressure fan - you have no need for that and it's very expensive for a case fan on your first system

The 16mb cache will be fine - Maybe add a 128gb SSD when you get the finances.

Good luck with the build

Okay, will add that then, is there manual on how to connect it? (or is it obvious?)
I won't buy from overclockers as the shipping costs are 20€ to my country, I rather have the gpu w/o those games then, but I found it on amazon, so np.

and for the noctua, a friend said: "there are quite a few holes around the CME and there isnt a fan on the back or top of the case to get rid of the heat that the CPU produces I would suggest installing Noctua fan on the top of CPU"
However I just saw in the description that there is one fan for the rear included, so it apparently is not needed then!?

I had a Elite 430 case that the power button broke completely and on a mate's Elite 430 too. Another had his whole front come off as he was carrying his PC and that was expensive.

Basically its a 'ok' basic cheap case. Froma builders point of view it is tacky and not nice to build with.
A long time ago someone asked me why I was spending £1000 on a a build and only using a £30 case and compared it to putting a V8 engin in a Nissan Micra. My point is I don't like spending vast sum of money on a case, however spending just that little extra will make the difference. I own a Antec 300 but you can pick up a Antec 302 Three Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case for under £50.

Lots of great features like the large fan on top, the low level PSU mount and quality of build. Plus it is really nice case to build in. Don't neglect the case, it is a common mistake people make but you are spending all that cash on parts so house it in a worth while case.

Just my opinion. Good luck with the build, it looks good and enjoy.
