Need new DDR2!

Well, what can I say? I am awesome at overclocking, my PC 8500 Crucial RAM now only goes at 800Mhz after a year with me!

So, time for new stuff I think.

When I rock my FSB480 I have to drop my RAM timings right down and settle for 900Mhz on the RAM as the next strap in about 1100Mhz+, so looking for some 1150/1200Mhz stuff to stick in. No where seems to stock this anymore, any ideas?

Only requirements are its DDR2, 2x2Gb (clocking 4x1Gb was tougher than I'd like) and around the £70ish mark, but that is doubtlessly not gonna happen, so just under a ton.

Can't believe the prices of this stuff now.

Seen XMS2 going for £80 (2x2g 8500), so thought perhaps a good set of 6400 might be cheaper, and it's about £72 (which aint worth it at all).

Swear 6400 was under £50 end of last year.

With the shift of production to DDR3 it probably will not improve that much. It will be interesting to see what happens to DDR2 prices when the current shortage of memory modules rectifies itself.

The problem is that memory these days are so volatile as with ssd's.

The best deal i can find is http://www.ebuyer.com/product/164792 which is smack on a ton if u opt for the 5 day delivery which is free and normally turns up within two depending on when ordered. Ive ordered on a satday before though and still got it on monday with a 5 day delivery which i found good.

change of plan, going to get a X58 after christmas as I found a buyer for my Core2Quad, plus with DDR2 costing an arm and a leg these days, plus my car "technically" a write off, I figure I should be saving my pennies.. ta anyway, damn tempting but £100 for 4Gb sadly is a very poor investment when the car needs a new front end slightly

you could get 2x2gb ocz platinum 1150 & 1200 at ccl last time i looked but within the last 2 weeks they stoped selling it , the 1200 was £61.30 ish.

well anyway if i find anywere that sells similar cheapish ill post it up as im looking for some aswell.

tho i think ima look at some ddr3 + a new ddr3 mobo as it would end up being not much more tbh.
