Hey, Can anyone please give me a list of you opinion on the top 10 graphics cards based on performance, another on Value for money and another on Power-consupmtion?????

Thanks

toms hardware have lisitings with their best graphics cards at certain price ranges, updated every month, go have a look for the latest article.

For someone in a budget looking for top end graphics I'd reccomend;

HD4850

9600GT/8800GT

9600GSO (Rebadged 8800GS)

Those cards are in performance order. If you look around enough, you can get cards such as the HD4850 for ~£100. Bargain!

Yeah i am actually am on a budget of $900AUS or some where around that price range. i am am thinking of buying the 4850as i think that it offers best value for money and performance, just curious to see if everyone else thought around the lines i did and what all of your suggestions would be.:)

Not sure, i dont realy check the UK prices cause i live in Australia LOL. but anyways a 4850 is going around for about 190 - 215 in AUS. i think thats around 100 UK cause the Aussie dollar is trading at like 0.45 to the UK pound. Money is a factor and Im not really sure wat to buy though cause 9600gt SLI is about the same price as 4850 and has better performance in some games but then i would have to buy a NVidia Chipset board so im sure if thats really worth it?? Help please???:(

IM SPENDING 900 on THE RIG MINUS THE SCREEN, KEYBOARD/MOUSE, SPEAKERS, CASE. the things that i plan to buy are:

-Asus P5E

-Intel E7200

-Coolermaster extreme 650W PSU

-9600gt sli/4850

-4GB OCZ reaper RAM

I just got a 8800GTS 512mb (g92) for £60 :)

Decided it would work out a lot cheaper than getting a 9800GTX+ even tho it's basically the same card

Isn't the 9600gt the 8800gt with 3XSLI? 4970 is a VERY good card but is aprrox 100 more than the 4850 and i do plan on gaming but im just not sure if it is worth spending an extra hundred on a few extra frames per second over the 4850. Would it be worth my while to save up a few more dollars and then Xfire the 4850???

Basically i plan on getting a graphics card that will last me at least 2 years as i wont be upgrading in the next 2 years so yeah. im not buying an nforce board so that puts Nvidia out of the question. 4850 or 4870 based on value for money????

You don't need an nforce chipset MB to have 1 nVidia video card. If you won't SLI or CF then any MB with a PCI-e 16x (preferably 2.0) will do just fine for any video card.

If you want SLI/CF then you have to have a MB that supports one or both (X58 is over budget so both out of the question).

So if you need 1 card, HD4870 would be the best one in my opinion, at least in the midrange segment. Then 9800GTX+, then HD4850, then 9800GT/8800GTS...

I'm not sure about the two upgrade free years though...
