Hi,

I am currently working on a build in a TJ07 have mounted a quad wich will be cooling the CPU and hopefull tommorow a 240cm double rad wich will be cooling 3 gtx 280's, room is very tight and am now at a fork in the road.

So my question is which direction would be best for the 2x 12cm fans go on the 240cm rad please see my make shift diagram below.

Please be aware that the fans must be mounted in the exact spots as shown due to the following reasons

1) my intention is to have the 4x 12cm quad fans glowing blue through the side panel grill

2) The fans on the 240cm rad must be on the right side due to the very tight limitations of giving the 4 hoses enough room, It will be impossible to use angled hose connectors with the fans on the left side.

please also note that the fans on the quad rad are sucking in from left and expelling towards the right.diagram below thanks....

Ah the old suck and blow discussion!!

Either way will make very little difference.

As for the fans i would go with p-12's by Noctua, they are pressure optimised so will do well with rads

60cfpm should be more than enough, I rum my rad on Sharkoons at about 40cfpm and did not have any issues, these would be ideal though Noctua would be best if you can part £15 per fan

Have a read HERE basic conclusion was

"Push Vs Pull - This depends on fan speed/power. The high speed fans at 2000RPM with a 38mm fan thickness provided the best performance in a push condition. The slow speed fans with 1350RPM with a 25mm fan thickness provided the best performance in a pull condition. I would estimate that performance line is likely to cross in the 1500-1700RPM range where they are equal. So.... slow speed = pull, high speed = push, medium speed = it doesn't really matter."

I thought he was asking if he should have the 240 rad fans blow or suck as they'll have to be mounted like the picture shows.. and, well I might be misunderstanding this, but the 2 rads are mounted facing eachother so if both fans blow through their rads they end up blowing against eachother.. Then I'ld rather have the 480 rad fans blow and the 240 rad fans suck.. that way the airflow is going in 1 way and you can control it and performance should be increased.. Depending on noise I'ld tune the 240 fans slightly higher on airflow than the 480 ones.. but..

Hope that was of some help :D
