Need Help on how to watercool an 8800GT

Hi there, ive never really watercooled anything before, but everything ive read about 8800gt's suggests they run incredibly hot, and although this isnt bad for the card, it is quite bad for the rest of the case. this is a general plea to ask if anyone can help me choose a cheap and effective water cooling setup to cool just the 8800gt

Now that`s an interesting request, just the gpu.

I`m sort of thinking the experienced peoples will advise u that if ur gonna do the gpu, u may aswell do the cpu whilst ur at it. Being effective.

Dunno myself, just what I figured. Can be done tho, just think for the price of the rest of the kit, the cpu would be an obvious inclusion.

to answer your question ''there is no cheap watercooling option to cool your card'' well none that i would recommend.

you do not need to do anything more than turn your fanspeed up in riva tuner to about 80% with the stock cooler.

if you wanna go mad and start doing some deacent overclocking then you will need a better cooler . the good news here is that there is a cheep cooler that supposedly does a great job

ohh ps, remember that you need to have deacent airflow in your case.

Tbh if you want the next best thing to water cooling for it then get the thermalright HR-03GT itll cool your gpu to like 40degrees load overclocked.

One of the methods should be fine in using a fan for you.

Wow Thanks Guys! i really had no idea that there were that many cooling options for the GT, i did briefly look and not turn much up, i think im gonna go with the thermalright, it looks beastly, and im sure with a fan itll be very effective. especially as i already have very good airflow in my case

we have built up loops in the past just for GPU's but tbh the cost would be around £100-£130 all in depending on what you chose to cool but you will probably find unless you are hard core oc'ing / gaming this would be a tad too much for just one card.

yeah i figured it would be quite expensive in the end, i was planning in liquid cooling the cpu as well but in a seperate loop.
