I will be upgrading my build for this. Will this be able to last for future games and will it be able to play games such as BF4 and Crysis 4 on ULTRA settings&60+ Frames? Should I upgrade to a 780 ti or a 880/ti next year or add another 780 in SLI?
I heard that the 290x is better than the 780.
Is this true?

Hey, if I were you I would wait a bit before going all out on a 4k gaming rig, at least until next month or so!

Also if you cut back on the i7/mobo you could get a better GPU, which would give you a performance increase if you're just gaming, but if you'd like to stick with the i7 please get the 4790k as it's the latest one :)

If you really want 4k, you prettymuch need to do sli or crossfire and even that will not render games on full settings on 4k, might i suggest you go with a 2560x1440 screen instead, 4k gaming isnt ready.

Take a look at the following review, it pits two 780Ti cards in SLI against two R290X cards in crossfire and benches them on a 4k 60hz monitor.

Bear in mind one card can not provide adequate frame rates on a 4k screen to be considered playable, unless you massively drop the in-game visual settings. And then there's no point because 1080p with all the eye candy up full will look better than 4k at lowest settings.

You need 4 x 6gb cards to run Crysis 3 on ultra settings @4K and then you also have to overclock them a bit.

BF4 is a bit easier as you need 2 x 4gb+ cards and avoid Mantle unless you want to run out of VRAM.

The best option is to wait and see what the next gen of cards bring.
