Need AC unit for my room....

Ok I've come to the hasty conclusion that I won't be able to survive this summer w/o an AC unit for my room... We've got AC in the house but it doesn't cool the top floor very well which means its boiling hot in my room and my comps proc stays boiling hot with it.

I'm contemplating one of the standalone units that I could put next to my desk and then possibly duct over the top of my radiator intake for super cold air, near waterchilling results.

What do u think? Is it worth the $300 for one of these units or should I just get a cheap-o $90 window mount unit?

Matt u do get what u pay for the $300 unit will prob offer more cooling and may be more energy efficient into the bargain

Yeah im going to have to think about it... if I get one I'll have to re-arrange my entire room to get it siuated correctly, bleh!

I'm not worried about the heat that the vapo creates, hehe... I'd live in a 100*F room all day if it meant having the sweet pimpness of a vapochill, hehe.

I can't aford a unit for the house that is 1200-2400 bucks but i want to get a ac unit for my room it has to be without putting a window exhaust outside cause i got a window protector.

I am suffering from the heat even fans doesn't do good i wake up in the middle of the night trying to breath. I need something that cools off my whole room instead of just one part and when i leave it on the whole day i have to put a new fan on its annoying.

please i need a good ac unit that is not expensive and jsut for a room that doesn't go outside for that window exhaust part or whatever its called.
