Need a quick answer on this - AMD experts please.

OK so I'm looking at a FX 8320 black edition CPU.

However what worries me is -

I thought the 8320 was Piledriver?!?!?

Can some one confirm that there wasn't a 8320 Bulldozer AND a 8320 Piledriver please?

Bulldozer were the 81xx series I think, 83xx should be Piledriver.
Check the AMD site? And why would go AMD, mate?

Because I managed to back a top spec board for really cheap.... Many reasons mate.. Give me 10 mins to make a cup of tea and I'll explain, but right now I'm absolutely bloody thrilled

Its Bulldozer architecture. Piledriver is a refresh but still same type of architecture.

Yeah I ended up finding that

CPU and board are ordered so by this time next week I should be cooking on gas again.

Sorry dude missed that..

I got an Asrock 990FX Extreme3 for £80 delivered. The overclocking is a bit pants but it will do 4.2ghz stable and from the research I've done there isn't much difference between 4.2 and 4.5.

What is important is that it supports SLI, has all SATA III instead of SATA II and III and so on.
