Need a new headset.

Hi guys, I need to ask you wonderful people advice on some new headphones. Unfortunately my headset decided to die the other day and need a good replacement. I want to spend under £100 and as I use them every day I would like the best bang for my buck. I do a lot of gaming but am not convinced by the 5.1, 7.1 surround sounds headphones so maybe a set of stereo headphones would be adequate. It also needs to have a mic attached as I use ts every day as well.

non usb? he wants surround, the normal stereo version is just for people who want to run around with those in public (never got the deal why everyone is doing it, looks stupid imo. there are inears for a reason).

You get surround from the sound card which you can pick up for 25 quid if you get an ASUS Xonar DGX

Might want to read his post again. As far as i understand he is NOT convinced by all the surround thingy.

would go with the USB version anyways since it can be used like the normal v2 as well
just try it with the USB soundcard and if you don't like it use the normal 3.5mm jacks

oh. well i should read more carefully. still it makes more sense to get the USB version.

the usb soundcard enables the 7.1 surround sound. so yea. but it's like 10€ more, so why not.
