NAS recomendations

I want a NAS for home so am looking at them now.

I wouldn't mind RAID 1 and need above 259gb storage, preferably with room for up to a terabyte

I have Vista 64bit too :)

I've seen this:

NETGEAR SC101T

But I've heard bad things about Vista 64 support

Anyone know anything about NAS?

Just a question are you doing this just for space? NAS is generally used for small business offices, if you like the idea of networked storage(mainly used for more than two comps, which is why its networked) than I say get it.

HP also makes a decent one, for a little more though, h/e it does come with a hard drive.

And I have heard bad things too about Vista 64 and actually 32 bit too.

Nah I don't want something that takes up the space of an old PC. I'm doing this for backup and storage purposes and it's specifically a NAS box I want so all my PC's can access and backup remotely without hassle

Yea then i would say get a NAS box. If you want raid 1, go with raid 1 but if i were you id be tempted to get Apples 1TB Time Capsule.

You can build one too, b/c NAS is basically a small htpc thats networked with linux. (most have hotswap though)

Yep I know I can build one, and i'll probably get a NAS box and stick a couple of 500GB drives in it, but it's cheaper to get a pre-built one in the end
