Mystery Machine

I've recently built a rig and it does everything but play games.

I7-3930K,
Corsair H100i cpu cooler
GA-X79S-UP5-WIFI mobo
32GB (8x4GB) Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133mhz
2x EVGA GTX Titan SC in SLI
Corsair 860i platinum / Coolermaster 1200w silent pro gold
1x Kingston Hyper-X 120gb SSD
1x Corsair Neutron GTX 256GB SSD
1x WD 2TB HHD (green)
1x SG 2TB HHD (barracuda)
1x WD 4TB (Black)
NZXT Phantom 810 case

Whenever i try and play a game, the screen freezes and a horrible noise comes out the speakers and i have to reset. Also, the usb keyboard and mouse lights power off.

I have noted that if i change any settings within the BIOS in regards to memory, it will fail to boot and i have to reset cmos back to default optimized settings. BIOS says memory is running at 1333mhz but if i load a XMP profile or change the timing, it fails to boot.

I thought it was possibly the 1200w PSU but when i swapped it to a 860w, the same problems occur.

Im struggling to figure out weather its something in BIOS, the memory itself or the MoBo

HEEEELP!!!!

The 7850 I used to have did the same thing. Might be one of the titans. Try running a single card, see what it does. You should try each of them, obviously. Bet it works just fine with only one of them.

Hi pSyKo and welcome to the OC3D forums.
It sounds to me like you might have a couple of issues at the same time.
Memory compatibility and Nvidia control panel settings
ftp://download.gigabyte.ru/memory/mb_memory_ga-x79s-up5-wifi.pdf
The above link is for the supported memory for this board.
Check all your settings in Nvidia control panel and make sure you have them set correctly. But I still think your main issue is with the ram...I could be wrong though.

Hmmm

Seems weird that it can only have 4 memory slots occupied when it has 8.

Ive been considering taking one Titan out to fault find but I keep conflicting with the idea that its supposed to work, not "not work".

Ill give it a shot and see what happens but I'm reluctant to settle for 1 titan and 16GB of memory when i got 32 ands board takes 64gb max.

I have even tried separate 12V cables for each titan power plug but according to Corsair Link, they both have plenty of power.

So...I removed 4 RAM and now its fine.
Better have 16GB instead of 32GB instead of having only one Titan, ae!

Have you tried to update your motherboard's bios ? Also check for beta bios also try and open a ticket with gigabyte support.. You got some great hardware that should be more than capable of being stable with 32gb ram.

I have latest MoBo bios F4w (beta) and nvidea 4.20 beta drivers.
I thought the same, MoBo has 8 slots why can't I use them?
I wonder if asrock extreme 11, asrock fatal1ty or asus rampage IV boards have same issue.

Get in touch with them and to speed things up I also always make a hint of posting my problem on there facebook page.. Other users may be having the same problem and will respond to you. Also you have the Gigabyte official forum http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/ for support

@kilobravo
What sort of incriments are we talking here?
I'm new to this OC business.
CPU and GPU are stock speeds and voltages.

Ok...been busy excuse late reply.
Tried f12 can't paste in win7 and no idea where screenshot went if saved somewhere.
