My rig

^IMO triple screens in a big waste of money, god for racing games and flying sims etc but that's about it, also 1 7970 will start to struggle on 3 screens

It's all about keeping to those budgets... On the topic of budget I would scrap the dual card setup altogether and spend the money elsewhere. Both a single 7970 or 7950 will handle games. If money is spent on buying a real highend card or a dual setup like 2x7950's then eyefinity should be the end product.

Lets face it, most people run only a single 1080p screen at best. Then you have people running higher res of 1920x1200 or 2560x1600, but again unless they have either of those high res screens or a 3D screen a single card will run just fine baring in mind being on a budget. I say be on a budget OR spend the money and go eyefinity 5760x1080

Innocent159... What are you running screen wise anyway?

Depends on the game, depends on the detail settings.

I am just saying if on a budget, and (most likely) running a single 1080p screen, there is no reall need to spend the extra on a dual GPU setup and spend it somewhere else. Plus on a side note you could get a lower rated PSU if not using a CF or SLI setup (more money saved). Innocent159 can get a lot for his dosh.

Actually why two SSDs, is that to RAID them?
Again this is only personally but I wouldn't RAID SSDs I'd just buy a single 256GB SSD like the samsung instead of two 128GB.

so a single ssd and maybe two hdd would be better, if go for one card its that new one from nvidia 670gtx. one hell of an awesome card

Ok if I assume that you are saying you are on a single 1080p screen (the physical size dosen't matter) and that you want to play games I will try and list out what I would do with your spec for £1500 (R20,000).

All priced from a UK site just as a guide.
KFA2 GeForce GTX 670 EX OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £319.99
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £167.99
Samsung 256GB SSD 830 Notebook/Apple Series SATA 6Gb/s KIT with Norton Ghost - (MZ-7PC256N/EU) **BTS £20 CASHBACK** £149.99
Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD20EARX) £89.99
Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 16GB (2x8G DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CML16GX3M2A1600C10) £89.99
Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £84.98
LG BH10LS38 10x BluRay-RW / 16 x DVD±RW Lightscribe Drive - Black (OEM) £69.98
Thermalright HR-02 Macho CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/LGA1156/LGA1155/LGA1366) £36.38
LG GH24NS90 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £18.98
Thermalright TY-141 140mm Case Fan - 120mm Mount £11.99
Corsair HX 850W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-850HXUK) £121.99

Total comes to £1174 without case (although delivered to UK for £10 so your delivery would be higher)

I did not forget the case, seems the price is about £130 (Blue version) which makes the total is £1304

To go SLI just add another GTX 670 - The KFA2 listed already has a after market cooler so no need to upgrade and no issues with voiding warrenty. No point getting two cards if you have only one screen. If you plan on using 3 screens then SLI is a great option and you can stick with the 670 GTX as it is a strong GPU. One thing to consider is that AMD GPUs handle tripple screen gaming better than Nvidia GPUs and they are a bit less cost wise. I would say two 7970s in CF would be lovely, and to save even more money to spend elsewhere two 7950s.

I only included one additional fan (I assume to add to the CPU cooler) so for each case fan add another TY-141 140mm Case Fan.

I kept one HDD, I agree completely with Seumasbeathan that you should get a Western Digital HDD, better make AND 2 year warranty. Just add another if you really want the storage. Personally if you don't need RAID but need storage just buy a WD 3TB as your storage drive.

The PSU at 1050 is overkill. I listed a HX850 SLI version. The 670 GTX and 7970 requires a 6 and 8 pin power connector and this PSU will suit. A thing to point out is the 7950 only requires two 6 pin power connectors.

Not sure what you need a external Blu Ray Writer for? But I would suggest getting an internal one and that is what I have listed. Also unless you need it I would get rid of the DVD RW drive as the Blu Ray writer will do DVD RW too.
