Does my actual PPD rate look about right for the hardware I have folding now?
I was expecting a Xeon x5500 to be producing more for such a current server processor.
My 24h average seems very low, or are u guys running a boatload more hardware than me? I wonder if it's because i havent completed 10 SMP WU's with the passkey yet? I think 10 was the requirement for the bonus? maybe a few more days to wait.... grrr /impatience
Not really. Some people will try to hand pick them by stopping the client and deleting the work folder and then download a new WU. It's not worth it IMO though and only hurts the research. All we can do is keep crunching these crappy WUs and hope we get through them soon.
No, I believe HFM calculates your PPD to include the bonus, regardless of whether you are actually eligible. So it seems accurate to me.
The way the bonus works, as I understand it, is the quicker you finish the WU the more points you get. Thus it scales almost nonlinearly...for example a single i7 rig at 4ghz will produce more points than 2 separate i7 rigs at 2ghz each because of the weight it has on how quickly you turn the WU in. This is why a dual Xeon rig @ 4ghz in an SR2 can produce 100k+ ppd.
Edit: So my point was that you aren't seeing crazy high ppd numbers on your SMP because of the lower clock speed. Your PPD numbers seem correct to me. According to http://linuxforge.net/bonuscalc2.php, 20min per frame on a 6701 will give you ~2700 ppd.
