*my new build*

Few recent pics, uber air cooling  not bad since it's been years and i winged the build ha! Can't believe how quiet it is compared to my old PC with one exhaust fan!!!

Haven't run any benchies yet, will have to soon, i'll report temps when i do, it does kick out so much heat even at idle. Before i bench i want to sort out everything and get a good back up point with all settings and programs installed from scratch, so many weird incompatibilities with Vista x64

I managed to get the TRUE in push/pull eventually too, still not sure if it's seated proper tho, temps defo went down, tho it idles a bit higher than i would like 36-45c depending on the core... hmmm... it seems to pull the down on the PCB a bit much too. Also it never seems to hit above 58c on load.

Set the affinity of the process to 1 or 2 cores, CTRL+SHIFT+ESC --> Processes --> right click set affinity --> Leave core 1 and 2 ticked.

Try again.

Also forgot tried the affinity, minor improvement, if at all, still issues, it's really bugging me now!!! I'm wondering if it might be better on a fresh install..?

Oh :(, well best bet is to ask around on a few websites other than this also.

BTW nice cable managment :) can't wait to get my rig built :), will be looking sexy lol.

Check if AA is turned on. AA and HDR don't get along too well. :)

As for the build, talk about airflow! :p

Tried combo's of all setting's and res's... meh, i'm not hitting below 60FPS, so gotta be some conflict that's causing it, yet to tweak a few settings in oblivion's .ini file.

I have all the fans on max too, lol, still hardly hear anything!!! The thing that gets me is all the flashing blue lights, too much neon bling for my liking, i like all go and no show :ar: Have that!

Maybe try recording a fraps movies and showing the problem?

So i dl Fraps, got a movie but it's one and half gig

Now if i compress it to AVI or something reckon it'll hide the problem? Plus any good conversion programs?

Load Windows Movie Maker, import place on the timeline, render movie, for computer (enter the size of file example 14mb) and thats it :P, compresses it for you.

Maverick: Do you have all the fans pushing air into your case? :| I think (read: guess) having 2 blow in and 2 suck out would help decrease the case (read: cpu) temps.

3 in, 2 out, gave me the best temps, out of all other configs.

1xCM fan at front of CM Stacker pulling air over HDDs and out the case.

3xNoctua drawing air into case on side panel, 2 directly over 4870x2 (hottest thing in my case!) 1 to the side of the true which then has 2 fans pulling air through to the exhaust which is drawing air out of the case.

I did try having two side panel fans drawing air out from the 4870x2, but it wasn't very effective at all. I'm not overly fussed about the CPU temps as under prime they never hit over 58c (Prime95 1hr) plus I'm sure the true isn't sitting right, and my vCore can go lower, at the mo I'm idling at 35c, probably my ambient temp is high. As long as it doesn't hit 60c+ i ain't gonna worry.

Didn't bother compressing the video file in the end, just uploaded it straight tho it's taken hours doh! And now it's saying video not processed.. meh, i'm new to YouTube sux

EDIT: Seems that loads of other peeps on YouTube are having the same issues tho.

EDIT: I'm such a thicko dunno why i never just followed ya guide first youngie of all took about 5mins from opening WMM to being on the net!!!

It doesn't show up as much compressed but you can kinda see it!

Micro Stuttering???

On further research it seems to be that i'm suffering from what is called micro stuttering... ho hum, more delving into google for hours on end, gonna start from scratch again i think.

Yeah high pitched squealing. Mainly when game is loading or between maps. I think it's when FPS hits several thousand and really gets it going. I haven't played oblvion with it though so can't help ya there.. Sorry bout that.

Better late than never ;)

But yeah you mean like a high pitch sound??? If that's the case, then i'm guessing it's my Graphics card, it's not continuous, more so at the start of a game, loading etc.

Do you play Oblivion on your system with 4870x2?

I'm having right trouble with juddering/choppiness in Oblivion, reducing the res and a few shadow settings seems to help a 'little', but according to the console debug with everything max'd w/HDR I'm getting over 60FPS outdoors, anything from 66-80+ There shouldn't be any choppiness with those frames should there? It's really noticeable when i move the cursor very slowly... tried messing about with vSync still no joy.

Thought it could be my Dell 2408wfp what with all the talk of ghosting talk etc, but i've played other games, (The Witcher EE one of em all settings max'd) and rigged up my 360 and everything's smooth... to my eyes.

My Q9650's @ 3.6ghz, stable, 4870x2 @ stock, ram DDR3 at 1600 CL7 stable, Running with Vista SP1 x64 (All updated 25/10/2008), and ATI CCC 8.10...

Any ideas peeps?

Sorted!!!

Fresh install, worked a charm, used the 8.10 again, no stuttering, must have been some conflict somewhere... possibly from the 8.9 driver or...

My boot times were huge prior to re-installing vista so prob had some mad registry errors going on from messing around with lots of stuff i shouldn't have :o

Cheers for everyone's help much appreciated:hands:
