Very, very nice bud! I hope that you get a very long time before you have to upgrade again! That must have cost you a bomb and a half!

Do some benchmarks for us on 3DMark06 and let us know what you get, and OC the stuff you have to the max (that is what I consider benchmarking..:))

Thought i'd treat myself seen as it's been so long...

I started planning for my new build just before the Core 2 got released by Intel, and i got stuck in the loop waiting for the next newest bit of kit. I knew i was gonna drop about 2g's so i thought i might as well get a killer system, guess patience has paid off.

Always had more important things to spend my money on over the years, so i never really had the chance before... but now t'is a happy day

Only thing is I'm already eying up some WC loops:yumyum: lol

ME TOO!!! haha Think I'll wait for the Core i7 range to mature good and proper before i jump in again.

It'll be nice to actually get some time to put it all together!!! But when i do I'll post some bencies :nutkick:

Okay I am sorry, I thought you were questioning if it was in CF. My bad.

Yeah that would have been overkill but very, very cool! Would play all games for the next three years with ease I reckon!

You can always buy another one to stick in ;)

Does your X2 squeal when loading a level in a game?

I'll get back to you soon when i've finally get to grips with Vista!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

So i finished putting it together yesterday night before work, installed vista ultimate x64 in about 13mins.... wow...:worship: unreal...

on first boot, the rampage was running the g.skill at correct timings and frequencies (1600Mhz/CL7), and it auto overclocked my Q9650 to 3.6Ghz!!!

Didn't expect that at all!!! Really thought i'd have issues with the memory.

Only issue i did have was i couldn't fit the T.R.U.E. in push-pull in the correct orientation, i.e. facing the exhaust (i could facing up but meh, not pratical!), so i have it set up as a push only. And i can't fit the side panel fan holder either... really didn't expect that with the CM stacker, thought i'd have plenty of space!!! Anyone know how big the tuniq tower is compared to the T.R.U.E???

Will post pics today sometime, i need shut eye after work...

oh yeah how gay is this, i forgot to buy a video cable... doh!!! have to keep swapping between PC's... silly faux pas... :nono:

Better late than never ;)

But yeah you mean like a high pitch sound??? If that's the case, then i'm guessing it's my Graphics card, it's not continuous, more so at the start of a game, loading etc.

Do you play Oblivion on your system with 4870x2?

I'm having right trouble with juddering/choppiness in Oblivion, reducing the res and a few shadow settings seems to help a 'little', but according to the console debug with everything max'd w/HDR I'm getting over 60FPS outdoors, anything from 66-80+ There shouldn't be any choppiness with those frames should there? It's really noticeable when i move the cursor very slowly... tried messing about with vSync still no joy.

Thought it could be my Dell 2408wfp what with all the talk of ghosting talk etc, but i've played other games, (The Witcher EE one of em all settings max'd) and rigged up my 360 and everything's smooth... to my eyes.

My Q9650's @ 3.6ghz, stable, 4870x2 @ stock, ram DDR3 at 1600 CL7 stable, Running with Vista SP1 x64 (All updated 25/10/2008), and ATI CCC 8.10...

Any ideas peeps?

Set the affinity of the process to 1 or 2 cores, CTRL+SHIFT+ESC --> Processes --> right click set affinity --> Leave core 1 and 2 ticked.

Try again.
