My new build - thoughts and ideas please

Hi,

In the next 2-3 weeks I will building myself a new gaming computer.

I will post the list of the parts a plan to get, i just need some help and inputs on the parts I've selected. My budget is $2800 USD (including mouse, keyboard etc). I'm under that by far so I'm quite happy, although it would be good for you guys to have a look and suggest better parts (not necessarily cheaper). I will also be over clocking my CPU to around 4GHz on occasion.

Parts list

If you have spare cash and you want better parts, id say go with the i7 not the i5.

very nice graphics card though, wish i could have afforded one of those when i

did mine

ever thought about a full on watercooling system, they look cool

whatever you choose, choose whats right for you.

goodluck

Your mobo prolly aint the best pick if you plan on getting another 680. 2nd pci slot only runs at 4x. Likewise, a 650w power supply would be cutting it close on two.

Other than that, I'd consider a cheaper brand ssd. OCZ agility 3's and mushkin enhanced chronos work just as fine IMO.

Take a gander at my build i just put together, its abit lower budget but it might give you some ideas.

Yeah i was thinking about going for the I7.

I want to go fully water cooled but i dont want to screw it up haha.

If i do i have to make sure i get all the right parts and tubing sizes.

Kind of messes with my mind a bit.

I will look up some videos of people installing it to see how hard it really is, thanks

Yea i just had a look then, il look up something that can handle both of them.

And its not to hard to switch up the PSU, ive still got 2 weeks untill i have the money

Food for thought - the 3770k is very overkill for a gaming build and the rrp is a lot higher than the 3570k.

Also the 7950 is as good as the 7970/680.

You won't need more than 8gb ram for gaming.

650w psu will be fine for a single GPU but go 850w if you want to get a second.

^This entirely.

Also, Sickleflow fans can be quite loud at times so i'd be tempted to swap them for something quieter such as the Bitfenix Spectre LED fans

What M&P says.

Get the silent Sapphire 7950 OC one if you plan on sticking with aircooling for gpu. Otherwise, if you're going water, make sure you get a reference card.
