My mach 2 gt is due to be delivered today via citylink between 9-530pm.

I have been told that I need to let it stand for 12hours before I use it:( .

I will use this thread for the many problems I am sure to encounter with the install and overclocking with it, any tips, advice that you guys could give me will be very much app'd:wink: .

I am gonna be sticking to using the official Mach 2 guide that comes with it.

Fingers crossed all goes well and I'll see you at the mid 3ghz mark8) .

Cheers guys.

It's a good idea to leave it 12 hours before running the Mach2 GT, i did when i first got my mine.

Gave me time to setup the rest of the system, i.e. cable mamagement etc.

Good Luck and most important have fun with the Mach2 GT.

:D

Nice one, I bet you're excited! :D

I never knew you had to leave it for 12hrs! Would it not reach temperature properly if I didn't by any chance?

That'll help the time pass while it settles :D

No worries there, I got to be in work at 7.30pm and I dont finish till 4.30am:@ , nothing better than hard graft to pass the time:rolleyes:

Is there a test I can do before I install the mach to check that its all working perfectly and without a leak? Can I measure the temps of the mach 2 GT with a cpu probe pressed against the head to test its temps are ok to start with?

It is good to let it stand for a good few number of hours to let the gas and oil seperate out, otherwise you can get compressor damage.

You should be able to turn the unit on and the head will get frosty which will indicate everything is going good.

Waiting is the hardest part.

WOOHOO!! She arrive about an hour ago.

I will power it on when I get in from work tomorrow morning. So all I need to do is put in the power lead plug her in and she's away yeh?

Is the time it takes to get frosted up an indicator or it working good, Like if it takes 20mins then something could be wrong?

Heh he wont be posting for a while, he'll either be crying because its damaged or clocked too far and broken his rig :D

Hi guys, sorry for not keeping you updated, the main reason for this is that there is nothing to update.

Like I say I got my mach gt the other day and then left it to stand for about 15 hours, when I got in from work I connected all the nes wires to the mobo and psu in order to get the mach to fire then hit the power.

She fire into life with a few groans and within 5 mins she was reading -69c on the display with a big chunk of ice on the head.:D

Thats pretty much all thats been done so far as I ahve been real busy at work atm, today is my last day at work then I'm off for 11 days:D :D so will be fitting the mach then, either sunday/Monday.

Had one bit of bad news tough and that is one of my Mushkin redline xp4000 modules seems to have developed a fault:@. Just when you think that youv'e got all the components for a top rig something else breaks8) .

Anyways I am trying to set up an RMA for them atm but no one seems to be home at Mushkin. Have got a set of ocz 4000vx come untill I get the redlines sorted.

I still got to cut up my Lian li pc65 for the Mach and dual rad, I,ve got the 114mm holesaw for the rad and am probs gonna use a jr hacksaw for the mach cut, I think this wil give the tidyest result as I dont have a drimmel.

How much seal string should I use on a 939 socket, 1 or 2 layers? I am also gonna use some grease on the ouyside on the cpu and socket but not inside the socket where it would gunk up the pin and socket where it would be impossible to remove should I need to RMA one of them.

Also trying to find a cheap set of the silver Lian Li panels for the mach or make my own out of the spear side panel I have for the pc65, I would still need to get the front panel tough.

P.S Are thoses -69c readings good for the mach 2 GT not yet attached to the cpu?

Yeah -69 unloaded is about right.

Might be hard finding someone selling spare lian li panels as most people will either keep them or sell them when they sell their prommy.

What were you guys getting unloaded and not installed on the cpu?
