My Gigabyte Ice Rig (Budget)

Hi guys hope you like this it's my budget build still a work in progress but she's got it where it counts and she's used everyday all day for work and play . Rough cost of build so far £600 over 15 months.

Cooler Master Seidon 120M Cooler
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 (Rev 4.1)
Corsair XMS3 16GB (1333mhz)
Modded Clear Acrylic Gigabyte Display case
XFX HD 6790 Core Edition

Crucial V4 64GB SSD (OS Only)
WD 500MB Caviar Black
Sharkoon mixed CCFL (Blue & White)

Please leave off with the cable management comments, it's bloody hard with a clear case to get it perfect.
Please forgive my poor photographic skills, acrylic is not very forgiving when it comes to having it's picture taken.

Pictures are a little small - try hosting them externally on imgur/imageshack then copy and pasting the forum code in.

But, considering it's a budget build, you've done very well on the mod work, so +1 for that...

Looking good but maybe add a white led to help it look more icy? Little bit of subtle white goes a long way for many things(computers that is).

Just waiting on some black braiding coming before I put the 12" white strip in the top, also have white braided PCIe cables coming for the Radeon really hate the standard OCZ ones only thing I notice now are the red plugs.

If them red plugs are driving you nuts, a relatively easy fix.....

I cant think of the tool that makes it simple but you can remove the wires from the connectors and coat the red plugs either icy blue or white. but then if you are getting new pci-e cables then it might not be worth changing the colour just yet.

Thanks for the tips guys I have all the molex and atx pin removal tools I ordered shiny new white braided cables the same as the 24pin & 8pin ones I've already got. I do braid my own cables from time to time but it's just mind numbingly boring not to mention time consuming.

It's been a lot of fun building her I'm already looking at upgrading possibly a new acrylic case from Parvum systems just waiting to see what the new ATX cases look like first.

I did do a full evaluation of cost over the last 15months and I'm almost right with the estimate of £600

A lot of measuring cutting and braiding today so that's cable management taken care of just waiting for the window tint for the drive bay panels.

Self adhesive vinyl is fun, Cutting acrylic is not! My PCIe white cables are out of stock so have to wait for those coming in to finish off this build. All that aside I've really enjoyed this little project, time to move on and plan a new 2014 build.
