"Re-born"

Wraith

Bettyswollocks
This is your introduction to Re-born, a gift from our Master and Commander Mr TinyTomLogan, many have seen the video I did, and I have to say the kind words and respect was just overwhelming.
So without further ado, here as promised is the build log of "Re-born" my new pride and joy, this is just the start I'm not 100% on the cables and also she really needs paneling out to make her guts look all streamlined.

So to start off, here's what I had before the OCZ PSU died and killed the whole system.

AMD FX-4100
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3
Corsair H80
8 GB Corsair XMS3 (1333Mhz)
XFX HD 6790
OCZ ModXstream Pro 500w
Crucial V4 64GB SSD
WD Black 500GB
Custom Acrylic display case.

But that was then... this is now.

Pentium G3258
Asus H97 - Pro Gamer
Corsair H100i
8GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133Mhz (1600Mhz)
Asus GTX 750 Ti OC
Corsair CS650M
Crucial 64GB SSD
Corsair LX 256GB SSD
WD Black 500GB
All wrapped nicely in a Corsair Obsidian 450D

Looking rather sparce, time to fill a gap.

Well that's much better, although it was quite a tight fit, exactly 5mm between PSU and bottom of the motherboard

Now for a touch of the cool stuff, it's my personal preference to use cling film to apply TIM smoothly, it's also much cleaner and no risk of grease contamination.

All snug and sitting pretty, just a few more pieces to install.

So for now please give feedback, I know you all will :D. I have to say the G3258 compared to the FX-4100 clocked to the same 4.0Ghz is a no brainer! The Pentium just spanks it and with only 2 Cores. Expect to see overclock updates A LOT!

Things still to do:

Panel internals. (No Carbon crap this time)
Fan reducers.
Better lighting.

Not bad. If you are going to illuminate it, I recommend putting some LED fans in the front, not top because they are going to just hit straight to you. While having them in front will give a nice look through the mess and will ambiently light up the rest of the rig

I have a 1m LED strip, which when I have the time is getting cut down and placed in key areas to accent the hardware using only white light and being able to adjust the brightness.

I love that you're using the Dom Plats with the old vengance too ;). Any hints on what the new mobo is going to be?

I'm either going for the GA-H97M-HD3 with the Pentium Anniversary or GA-F2A88X-D3H and Athlon X4 760K.

Not a fan of all the carbon wrap, but the PSU cover is really nice! At least you did something creative with it :D

Ooooh Tom getting everyone curious again.

Nice, i like the carbon vinyl. If the motherboard restricts your 2133mhaz ram to 1333mhz, then you should make the timings tighter instead

Good guy guv is at it again it would seem haha, loving what you have done so far wraith think I may do some cable lacing myself soon, it tidy it right up

Lovely build so far! Not a fan of the carbon wrap too, but the PSU cover is indeed very nice! I like how to managed the cables too.

And indeed very generous of Tom! He does really care about the community, faith in humanity = restored ;)
