my ghetto watercooling.

ok saw a post on facebook from TTL showing some ones ghetto water cooling. and i just said to my self thats not ghetto.. my main rig is more ghetto than that. "left a comment saying that too but used the wrong account at 1st. so i added that it was me saying it with my real account"

finally got round to taking some pictures. "i really shouldnt have its nothing to be proud of lol"
But..
Behold the magnificence of jubilee clips pipe reductors an old 120mm thermal take radiator.
some random inline 12w 550l/h pump
a oc cool 2 bay reservoir
and the remenance of a silverstone TD 03 (is just the rads and fans)

Please ignore what looks like filth in the bottom of the case. it is actually contact adhesive i was trying to use to mount some foam for the pump but i moved it a number of times. there is some foam stuff stuck in places too..

any way the case is a trendsonic wizard. and its terribe

not the prettiest job in the world but its what i could do with the space and mounting options i had, reusing as much as i could and doing the job for as little as possible so the wife didnt kill me. having a non modular psu didnt help any.
But it does the job.
And if i can do that with no leaks i'm sure every one els can use the real kits and not get leaks ;)

This is probably the best picture because the lighting dosent let you see it that well..

here is the front mounted 120mm rad i dug out from my old thermal take big water parts that were in the attic (using a xigmatek aiger fan "its a good fan with great static pressure not really that loud either)

here is my water block i added the other day replacing the aio pump from the td03 which wouldnt let me clean it if needed

as i snapped one of my reductors i decided to paste the white tube with silicone then slide this tube all the way allong it. the reductor part is still in the white tube so i was able to clamp down well with a jubilee clip at the other end of it. so the silicone probably is over kill but better safe than sorry.

here are my jubilee clips and a t junction for draining. the one furthest away is the one where the reductor snaped in the tube. but atleast it lets me tighten the jubilee down really tight. it isnt touching my 7850, but i do mean to tape it up incase it ever decides it wants to.

camera decided to focus on stupid stuff. but here is my pump. theinlet is at the front which is stupid so i had to prop it up like this. the OD of the inlet is like 13mm. my tubing has a ID of 10mm. so i had to heat and stretch to get it on. i use a cable tie for those just incase moments (didnt have a jubilee clip big enough) the outlet is barbed unlike the inlet and was perfect for my 10mm IO.d tubing. still slapped a jubilee on there too.

just another shot of the front 120mm rad which was held in place y an elaborate seriese of cable ties. but i had to un do that when i swaped blocks and added a pump. so it only has a couple holding it now. the remnance of the rest you can see but will be used again.

you would have liked my old q6600 thermaltake rig lol.
i had one of those 20litre storage boxes as a reservoir with a 1000l/h fish tank submersible pump in it.
i would occasionally fill it up with some etra ice..

i would be at 25c idle at 3.7 and about 28c at 100% load for like 2 days. then i had to empty the water out again as my temps started to creep up in to the mid 30s!

Found the facebook post, thread has been closed though. The thread got out of hand at some point iirc.

I understand why it got out of hand at some point, i feel sorry for the person that spent so much money and ended up with a rig that looks like it was built by a total newbie in 2004
