Alright, guys, here's what I've decided to get so far:

CPU: I7 2600K

Motherboard: Asus Rampage III Extreme

GPU: MSI GTX 580 Lightning

RAM: Corsair Dominator GT DDR3-2000 CL8 6Go

SSD: Crucial 128Go RealSSD C300

HDD: WD 1.5To S-ATA III 64Mo

ODD: LG GH22NS50

Case: Silverstone Raven RV02-E

PSU: Antec 1200W truepower quattro (planning to get a 2nd 580 GTX down the road)

CPU cooler: Noctua NH-D14

Please let me know what you guys think. I'm mostly aiming at playing the current games all maxed out.

Also, I don't know what monitor I should go for. I'm interested in 120hz monitors but dunno which one to get.

If you have any suggestions on how to make this better (or a bit cheaper if things are unnecessary) do tell!

Thanks!

u cant drop the 2600k processor ( 1156 socket ) into the Rampage 3 extreme ( 1366 socket )

if u want the sandybrige processor - then go for the asus maximus IV extreme ( trying to keep colour scheme and manufacturer )

if u want the RAMPAGE board - go for an i7 950

also memory.. if u you are going for the Sandybrige build. take a look at the Mushkin Ridgeback Redline, lower profile RAM sticks will get under that MA-HOOSIVE Noctua Fan.. the Dominators have a hard time fitting under the fan due to them high fins, and the mushkins run like a dream

PSU, love antecs... but maybe the OCZ ZX 1250w.. its Fully modular for even better cable management. no idea how it performs though

Raven case is a top choice

lovely looking thing

looks like a sweet build though!

hope this helps!

If you are going for a Gaming Sandy Bridge build with little video editing a few common components come up on a regular basis:-

CPU - 2500K

Cooler - Noctus NH-D14

Mem - 2 * 2gb mushkin ridgeback or gskill ripjaws

PSU - Corsair AX series 850 or 1200

SSD's have moved on too have a look at the New Vertex 3's, that crucial ssd is old hat now.

Motherboard wise I would go for anything Asus or Gigabyte that suites your budget, but have a look at the new Z68 boards instead.

I just read a review of the Z68 V PRO and it does seem to be even better than the P8P67.

Id change to an ax1200..

And i7 2600k for gaming only is a waste of money, you should go for an i5 2500k instead and spend it on something else!
